There was mention above of "performance parts" that could be specced, does anyone know what they are?

I've also Sen used ones with some carbon-fibre bits and some coloured decals, are these aftermarket bits?

The guy that sold me mine didn't seem very expert, and I didn't see any body kit or decals in the configurator when I did my specification.

I should take delivery at the end of January (although I've had precisely zero contact from BMW after I sent in the order, which is a bit poor when I spent £51,000 after a five minute phone call), so may have time to specify extras if they exist.

I've just taken delivery of a clock today that cost a little under half the price of the car, and the service was of a massively higher standard. They say me down with one of the clockmakers who explained to me how many years the torsion wife is treated for, how the bearings are so precise, and how exactly to look after it. I don't understand why we don't get similar from car dealers. It would make me far more likely to deal with them again in future.

Oh, and I'm keeping th C63. It'll go in storage for now. I'll decide in the summer whether to keep the BMW or not.

I also put in an order (well, letter of intent) for an RS3 saloon. Probably only one for the three will stay with me.

The performance parts are dealer fit options rather than factory fit so won't show on the configurator. Best asking at a dealer.

Thanks. I'll probably go to a dealer that I have more faith in than the one selling it.

James, you can buy the parts separately or you can buy the full external carbon bits as a package i.e. the two front carbon lip splitters, carbon mirror covers, carbon sill attachments, rear carbon lip spoiler, carbon diffuser, black kidney grills, gloss black side grills and the all important M Performance decals for £2,844 inc vat. You can also buy the M Performance exhaust including the four carbon tips for £2,400 inc vat and also including the Bluetooth controller. Both of these options are plus fitting. I was told that BMW are offering an incentive if you want either of these two packages and this is from a BMW parts manager.

I'm looking at these for the M2 we're getting in March 2017.

I walked past BMW park lane yesterday, and at the back they have a 2 series decked out in performance parts, with stripes etc. I went in to see what the carbon bits looked like on an M2; it's an M240; was a bit underwhelming...nice red leather though but the options probably push it well over £40k.

I went in there a few weeks ago on the off chance they had an M2 to see in the flesh, I was told, "yes sir we have one through hee" I was shown the white M240i and they were even nice enough to explain how the M240i is the top of the range M2 and they are so rare and hard to attain because its the first M2 in ten years. a nice lesson from a well informed sales assistant

I can't believe the length of this thread or the fuss about this car.

I drove one of these cars for two hours today.

It's a lovely car, but it did not look, feel or drive like an M-car to me.

And with a few options, who the hell buys them at those ridiculous prices?

What a disappointment!

In the summer I had both an M2 and M4 for a 24 hour test drive with a view to ordering a CP M4, we'll let's say my M2 arrives in march with a bit of luck.

Or ECOTY if you want an alternative view. Suspension and steering are not great.
