So I've had a deposit in with my dealer for 16 months now, I understand I was number 6 on my dealers list when I placed my deposit and have heard no further information in terms of delivery dates. The dealer says they will know their allocation next month for the year and I should get a car in 2017 at some point. Is anyone else getting such fuzzy information. I don't mind waiting as long as I have information but the dealer tells me they can't give me anything more solid. Is this normal?

I'm really trying to avoid the March changes in RFL. With talk of all these cars at other dealers I'm worried I'm being taken for a ride and moved down the list as they have my deposit already.

Nothing to stop you phoning around - if you can get one sooner, just get your deposit back?

no question some dealers received some physical unregistered cars in the last couple of weeks including one from MPJ on here who was very helpful.Depending on how flexible you are re spec I'd also definitely recommend calling around and seeing what's out there. It may have sold by now but MPJ had a lovely sounding black car for sale last week, new and unregistered, and I was offered 2 other cars besides.

Agree with VerySideways, i'd phone around a few other places.

When I went to see my dealer at the end of November they already knew they had a slot for March. Mine is due to go into build on the 3rd week of March.

I think the M2 looks good from the outside, but I have issues with the fact it doesn't have an the S55 in it doesn't have M seats and comes with dakota leather which is awful, looks no different to a 218d M sport inside due to this.

They seem to be fetching strong money though for some reason.

Just call around and you will probably get a car for March. Try Cotswold BMW in Cheltenham or just call a few random dealers and I bet you will be able to get a car. I only put a deposit on an M2 in late November and it's scheduled to arrive for early March 2017 and before the RFL increase, this wasn't with Cotswold BMW but someone else, however, two weeks ago Cotswold had a build slot for March but it may well have gone now.

Wow. That's some claim both as one of the best Ms and as a car that seems to keep appearing at dealers.

I'd put money on them trading below list now if not pretty soon.

So what if they do, why are you so bothered if they do start trading below list. You've owned and got rid of an M2, did you lose, break even or gain when you sold?

Did you read the post I responded to? It matters not a jot what I think but when someone says they won't go below list, that's laughable IMO.

I sold for slightly above list, the dealer I sold to couldn't sell it, and eventually got list for it. That was 2 and c5 weeks after launch. Real world experiences etc.

Yes I did read the post you responded to, hence my responding to your post. Sounds like you bought to speculate, which if you did, good for you for making a few quid, however, there are a good number of people who have bought or who are about to take delivery of an M2 (myself included) because they want one and not to flip it quickly to try to make a profit.

No I didn't buy to speculate. A couple of grand after laying down 50 odd is not a great bet. I already had a September order in and was offered a launch day car at the last minute, which I took. I sold it because it wasn't a great car IMO. I also cancelled the September order.

For info, a friend of mine bought one not long after launch and sold it to Romans not long after, and lost a couple of grand off list. I believe Williams have an LBB car in now, which is up for c48, which would have traded in for mid 40s. That's a low 50s car at list.

As I said, I don't care about values, I care how a car drives. To anyone who likes them/has one on order, great. But to say that they won't go below list, when they are already trading below list is just factually incorrect.
