I just collected my manual M2 on Saturday and loving it so far. I ordered it near the end of Jan 2016 and had a delivery option of Sept, but took a Jan 17 delivery as I didn't think I would get much use during such a short run up to Christmas.

It's long beach blue with all the carbon bits. I have to say I love it. I had only seen 2 previously-one at goodwood and one in a dealers, and I wasn't too sure how much I would actually like it.

Just waiting to get it fully run in so I can open it up an bit more :-)

Very nice, I have a Long Beach Blue DCT arriving in March. I'm looking to get the carbon boot lip spoiler and the black kidney grills fitted probably at the first service. I've already ordered the carbon and alcantara surround for the DCT gear shifter to be fitted from new. I do think the carbon boot lip spoiler looks really good.

Just noticed you're in NI Gavin. By any chance did you buy from JKC and swapped build slots with number 3 on their list?

Yes dealt with Michael at JKC, not sure what build slot I was originally. Have you purchased?

Dealt with Michael as well. So I think you were 2nd on the list and I was 3rd, cause my original build slot was around Christmas but I was getting itchy feet so asked Michael about getting it sooner. September turned out to be a little optimistic, I think I picked up the first weekend in November. Delighted with it.

The angle of the photo makes it look even more compact and the carbon boot lip really suits.

Congrats!

Out of interest, did you get 5 years / 50,000 miles of service pack or 3 years / 30,000 miles? It changed on the 1st Jan but I'm curious whether they honoured the older pack for orders placed in 2016, even if they aren't delivered until 2017

In case interesting for anyone who is looking or has a long wait for their car, my virtually new (450 miles) m2 is about to be traded back to the supplying dealer. Black, 2016/66 with every single option (including wireless charging, so Apple play ready) and had full exterior (and interior) gtecniq protection, together with front protection film. Unexpected new project prompts sale. This wasn't a speculative purchase, as I wouldn't have bothered with the gtecniq/film if I'd known it would go so soon. Think cars registered from March/April this year will get stung by the new tax rules so just thought I'd mention here just in case anyone is interested.

I ordered mine (including the 5 year service pack for £800) in November 2016 and it was registered and picked up last Saturday. BMW would not honour the service pack for cars registered after 31st December 2016 so I've had to settle for the 3 year/36K miles at £999, not impressed with BMW for this!!

That's poor. I dropped a line to the dealer im getting mine through and they said they would honour the 800 quid price they quoted me back in November. Didnt say anything about the term though :/

As you will only get two services you dropped the ball and been ripped off.

Does the M2 still have the running in service?

MikeE, If your mileage is near the 36,000 mile mark at 3 years you'll still be in pocket. My dealer has offered me the 3 year service pack for £800 as a goodwill gesture.

The M2 has a running-in service at 1,200 miles (oil, oil filter and diff oil), at 18,000 miles the first service (oil , oil filter and pollen filter) and then the 2nd service at 36,000 miles (oil, oil filter, pollen filter, spark plugs and diff oil). I know this is fact as I've looked into it very carefully when considering the service pack.

I've been quoted for the services individually:

Running-in: £330
1st Service: £320
2nd Service: £690

Even at £999 it's still a saving as long as you do the mileage.

Depending exactly how you drive, you may just miss the 2nd service.

They will only do a service under the plan if the service indicator is within 4 weeks of the average weekly mileage. My M6 has similar intervals and is on the 5 year 50,000 mile plan, but it's done nearly 40,000 miles and it's still saying 2,000 miles to go. If I'd been on the 3 year 36,000 mile plan, I'd only have got the running in service and one routine service.
