At the point of needing new front and rears together.

I currently run Pirelli P Zero and have no issues however I know some cars are supplied with Michelin SS's.

Any thoughts that might be worth considering before I buy a new set?

The MPSS are probably the best all round tyre available for the M5. I'm still on my original rears after 15k miles with plenty of life left in them & that included many track days. The fronts didn't fair so well & only lasted 7k miles before the shoulders vanished.

Used mine over the Winter & again no dramas.

Am after some Cup tyres for my upcoming track activity but am falling foul to the fronts being readily available, but Michelin don't make Cup rears in the size/s i need.

I understand the 20's are often in short supply. One of several reasons I stuck to the 19's!

Front shoulders gone on my fronts too at 15.5k miles, previous lady owner even had BMW check geo due to excess tyre wear to no avail!!

My local AC Tyres could get the SS * tyres within 2 days at £245 but got 3mm generally so still persisting with them.

MPSS on both my M5 LCI and now M6 GC CP, best Tyre for this car IMO.

This isn't always the case believe me! Fronts for some reason seem to be less of a problem versus the backs. I've had problems twice on my rears, so much so that I couldn't use it for 2 weeks whilst the new tyres arrived from Germany and believe me I tried to source them from all over ]at a premium.

I'd say that's normal on the F10 M5. It's a heavy car so any enthusiastic cornering will cause rapid wear. On track i found dropping the front pressures helped a lot as the MPSS heat up very quickly & at times they were well over 80 degrees celsius.

Lasted Anglesey & 2 days at Spa before the shoulders were shot.

As above, i'm still on my original rears & they have plenty of life left which i find odd, but i tend not too light them up very often & a lot of my driving is long motorway schleps.

Most surprising but now makes sense is how the front pads out live the fronts about 2:1.
