I also looked at that advert but didn't get a chance to view the car. I liked the idea of the B&O, but they are asking quite a premium given this is a 63 plate car and out of warranty (registered 31st Jan 2014).
It's on SOR so they are restricted by what the owner wants. It doesn't seem like they're keen to budge. There's a few nice 2014 M5's available at £40k on AUC which I would have thought set the guide for indies.

you can get a 2016 AUC car with a third of the mileage for an extra 4k. I cannot think of any reason to even consider a car like that from an indie confused

Hi all,
Been reading this thread for little while and i am now thinking about getting into an M5.
I quite like this car just wanted your thoughts/opinions on spec please. Not to sure about the black wheels but told they were a factory extra. Car is 2 owners from new, think originally a Park Lane demonstrator. It's a July 2014 car. Compared to others seems priced ok.

Thought I'd just add to this thread following a long distance trip in the car.

Snce it was new, my average MPG has shown 19.7mpg which to be fair is mainly from the daily trip to the station and back so never going to be great.

I did a trip to Manchester and back this week, mainly sat at 75mph as I was in no rush either leg of the trip. I reset the trip computer, filled up before I left and returned home yesterday having averaged 28.6mpg for the trip and 410 miles covered.

I have to say, quite impressed with what it can achieve on a long run like that on the occasion you want it to.

Does anyone know exact when the facelift happened? Is there a way of telling from VIN?

I am looking at a September 2013 car. Has the badge on the front grill, but I guess thats easy enough to put in.

Its advertised as a facelift car- how can I check to be sure?

Sept 2013 onwards should be LCI. Steering wheel is a giveaway

Steering wheel is one option (but not guaranteed as people do change them). I think the best option is simply to look at the iDrive. If it's got the big controller wheel with touch on the top then it's an LCI. If it's the small controller wheel with no touch then it's not. Extremely complex to retro-fit the post LCI (or NBT I think it's called) iDrive to a pre-LCI car so very unlikely to not be the real thing.

Hope that helps.

Updated with image (not an F10, but the right controllers) Bottom is LCI, top is not:

That's not bigger - just nearer the camera .... you can't fool us LCI owners that easily

Hi all,

what are owners seeing in terms of life expectancy for brakes, disks and pads?

Still looking for a nice CP LCI car with black M function seats, can't believe how many have white/ cream interiors, really not a fan of light interiors as they get old/dirty/tatty so quickly...

ha I am looking for the exact opposite after having black leather in all my previous cars. I want a light cabin but *every* single M5 seems to be specced with black leather. Silvertone is a needle in a haystack

I think the light interiors look great in dark cars. Great contrast.

Good luck with the searches. Such a great car

Does the competition pack exhaust sound much different to standard?

Seen a lovely Sakhir orange CP under £40,000.

Been looking to buy an F10 LCI M5 too. A fair share of the ones I come across have Silverstone leather in.
Personally don't mind it as mentioned it does give a nice contrast to a dark exterior coloured car and adds to the ambiance created in the cabin.
Platinum leather is quite rare but is my fav. Finding one with the full leather option though is like trying to find a needle in a haystack!

I bought one for mine it's a good bit louder than standard but not offensive.

I drove a 2014 CP a couple of weeks ago. Sounded the same to me

The other things to check are...

1) in an LCI the idrive screen has silver bars down the side
2) in an LCI the front headlights are different, you don't get the "dots" in the side
