What's The F10 M5 Like To Live With Real-world ?
Discussion
Yep, but you might what to look at these options:
20" wheels (sets the car off nicely and it rides very well on them)
HK sound (as you've said)
M multifunction seats (a real step up from the standard sports seats in terms of looks and comfort and an M car deserves M seats)
Surround view (it's a big car)
Online entertainment (a juke box for your car, play just about any song you can think of)
Split fold rear seats (they're not standard strangely and add some flexibility to the load space)
The car is very well specced as standard and none of the above are "needed" (apart from the M seats) but are nice to have IMHO and add 4.5k to the list price.

Suppose 4500 isn't too bad on the scale of things...
What's the max discount i should be playing for I've read up to 20k off which I find very hard to believe tbh
£80k will be retail give or take.
Am trying to see if there are any financial gains getting a new one with big discount and 0% or an AUC car.
Could put anything up to 20k down
Am presuming the GFV will be circa 30k over 4yrs?

20k seems a bit strong in terms of a discount, I've not seen that since they introduced the 0% deal, I got 14k off with the 0%, residuals are around 25-26k after 48 months. Suppose 4500 isn't too bad on the scale of things...

So the cost is roughly 40k over 4 years for a new one, you could get a 2012 AUC for 40k, put your 20k down and pay the rest over 3 years and own the car, so you'll have something to show for your money, but you might want the peace of mind and pleasure of speccing a new one.
Choices....
L
Thing is a new one I could buy at end of it for the GFV right? So if that's 26k but it's true value at the time is 35-40k I could still have decent equity? But I guess I'd have to pay the full GFV at the time to gain that or if there trade value at the time was say 33k would you get the balance back as you hand it over... I doubt that?!
But a poorly specd 40month old auc car for 40k in 3 years may be only worth 18k in 3 yrs so the difference between the 2 options of running a new full warranty car for the term and free servicing may be a lot smaller than initially thought.

I would hope a 6 year old F10 M5 would be worth more than £18k but who knows? 6 year old M3's & 8 year old E60 M5's now are commanding that figure and more.Due to the improvements over the E60 M5 (larger tank, better fuel efficiency etc) I think a 6 year old nicely kept F10 M5 will fetch early £20's to £25k.
All imo off course!

Yes you could be right but a lot of the purists prefer the n/a v10's so there prices will remain strong (for the nice low mileage examples)Due to the improvements over the E60 M5 (larger tank, better fuel efficiency etc) I think a 6 year old nicely kept F10 M5 will fetch early £20's to £25k.

There's a nice Silverstone one at my local dealers

Not sure what the spec is like? Professional audio? What's that ? Just the middle spec audio?
Popped into the local dealers today and had a look in the AUC m5 and was lovely and in lovely condition
So I decided to price up a new one... The standard spec is pretty awesom tbh but added a few things to it.
He is going to get the best price he can for me later this week on a 10k deposit...
Who are the other main dealers I should contact that often offer decent competitive prices.
The colour choice is going to be a tricky one!
Anyone got a pic of the champagne Quartz? Google images comes up with many different variants?

First 1200 miles don't exceed 5.5k revs and avoid prolonged high speed (autobahn speeds)
My advice is to give the engine some load in the medium gears to help seat everything and use engine braking where you can.
Don't baby it but don't rag it especially in 1st and 2nd, the brakes need bedding in as well a few high speed stops on the local bypass from 70mph will do the trick.

I used Lloyds in Colne, they were pretty good although as a group they don't like giving away cars, Peter Vardy always seem to have a good offer on the table. Here you go 14.5k off an M5 and 0%

Wills, the deal shows around a 10k contribution from the retailer and BMW-has it been reduced?
I don't know what it was showing recently but generally you should be able to get in the region of 13% discount from the dealer's margin in addition to any BMWUK / BMWFS 'contributions'On a list price M5 you should expect to pay something near the £60k mark and be eligible for the 0% PCP. My own car ordered in Feb was £80k list and paid £66k-odd after discount which was the sum of the dealer discount and BMW contibution at that time. I doubt much has changed since then!

That appears to have changed overnight, yesterday it was £6999 deposit, a combination of discounts to 14.5k and £598 per month over 48 months. Edited by Wills2 on Monday 3rd August 13:59
I've been on and off the phone to my local dealer in carlisle and explained the vardy offer and had vardy phone me up regarding the offer. Which stood a couple of hours ago.
Low and behold when the local salesman had a look at the offer (link I sent) he said it was a 10k deposit and 629 a month....
I presumed he was looking at the wrong offer but no I've just checked and it's gone up!!!
Just my luck.
Sounded like I didn't know what I was talking about to my local dealer as they said don't know how they can manage 7k deposit and 599 a month....
Arrgghhhhh
