Yep, but you might what to look at these options:

20" wheels (sets the car off nicely and it rides very well on them)
HK sound (as you've said)
M multifunction seats (a real step up from the standard sports seats in terms of looks and comfort and an M car deserves M seats)
Surround view (it's a big car)
Online entertainment (a juke box for your car, play just about any song you can think of)
Split fold rear seats (they're not standard strangely and add some flexibility to the load space)

The car is very well specced as standard and none of the above are "needed" (apart from the M seats) but are nice to have IMHO and add 4.5k to the list price.

I tend to disagree with a couple of the above points, but options are all about ones preferences.

The 19's are less common than the 20's, are more comfortable/quieter on the road & the rubber is a lot less. Personally i also prefer the look of them as they look very E39 M5 like & depending on the body colour are a better match up with the black trim.

HK is a defo.

M Seats i wouldn't bother due to the cost. They do look a little better than standard, but i didn't notice any difference in comfort between the M seats & Std & they're quite a high price for something that's only a marginal aesthetic uplift.

Surround View is a defo.

Online entertainment is way over priced (if i'm thinking of the right option). Spotify is now available on Connected Drive so for £10 a month you've got a huge database of tunes & it works extremely well. I swapped from Napster to Spotify last month & am very impressed.

Folding seats are a nice to have if you need the extra space, but the boot is huge so unless you're carting bikes etc. around i'd not bother. Thule do great bars/kits for the F10 if you need external storage.

Everybody's input is helpful so much appreciated,

The 19's I really don't like tbh, 20's make it look more purposeful.
I didn't see what the price of the seats are but I do suffer from a bad lower bad so the more adjustments the better... But I've not viewed the standard seats?!
You have a good point about the online entertainment though, spotify is a good option.

Does the electric memory seats work with thinks like door mirrors and steering wheel? As my wife is over a foot smaller than me and am sure in the past I read that each key can be programmed to set the car seating position when opening??

Colour choice is a nightmare I've already lost 2 nights sleep!
I ruled out white as I never thought it suited it but then seen a pic of the individual pearl white and sakhir Orange leather and looked lush.

Need a UK pic thread of the cars as the only one I can find for colours is the use thread on another forum and they seem to have different colour options.
Oh and the good news is peter vardy have changed the figures back to 6999/598

For colours inside and out have you checked this thread out? As for colours you can have just about what you like they do standard + individual and then a paint to sample as well within reason.

http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6320...

I can't speak for the standard M sport seats but the M multifunction seats come with the electric steering column memory etc...

My favourite interior from that is this, just look at those seats in Nutmeg and tell me they aren't worth it!

I agree on the wheels they're forged and made by Fuchs (Porsche fame) and really standout with the lovely 3" dish into the hubs, stunning to look at and the ride is very supple on them.

The standard seats, mirrors and column are memorised on a given key/memory setting.

I've never had a comfort issue with my seats however the seats above look bloody brilliant yes

I had chance to sit in both the standard and multifunction seat. The multifunction seat felt broader on the base, good if you've a fat ass like me, and were definitely more comfortable in my opinion . Well worth buying!

As stated - options are very much personal choice, but I would add following comments:

Multi-function seats are the best I have had in any car.

Split-folding seats really add to flexibility - I find all sorts of reasons to use them and I don't think it's that expensive.

Surround-view - not just for parking - my driveway has a restricted view and with SurroundView I can use the cameras in the front wheel arches to peer round the corner and see if anything is coming

Agreed, but this is an M5 not a 750i so i want my Lounge seats to stay in the lounge.

They do look lush but as said above would you really want to spunk a load of cash for a seat that 'looks' good as surely it's all about comfort & support & the standard seats offer the same levels of both. I'm also pretty sure that the larger backrest impedes rear legroom a touch, although not a big issue of you never carry rear passengers. Isn't Nutmeg a further cost option in the UK?

M5 is a Sport saloon, not a luxury car with a big engine so i'd want as much as possible about the car to exude sports rather than comfort.

Wheels are defo a personal choice as the 19's ride better, cheaper to clad in rubber, look more OEM 'M' like & are rare which i much prefer as every F10 M5 i see has the 20's. The 20's do look nice but i don't think are worth the extra.

When all said & done however, the cars epic so all these minor details really are that, the car performs no better/worse in any colour or options combo (excluding ramics etc.).

What are the visible differences between the seats? Looking at bmwarchive.org mine doesn't have any seats listed as an option but it seems to have the multifunction seats. Is there an obvious way to tell? The stitching runs front to back on the seat centres rather than from side to side and the headrests are the same as the photo above.

It's a late 2011 car, not sure if the seat options have changed over the years?

Cheers,
Bryn.

Good point on the multi-function seats being noticably deeper than usual - I do use mine regularly as a family car and was surprised by the lack of rear legroom for a car of this size. Perhaps its only half an inch but it makes a difference.

Not complaining though - the kids are small enough for it not to matter and the seats are great. I haven't sat in the standard ones but presume they are standard F10 sports seats with electric/memory function.

Great informative details there about the seats.. Shame I have no idea what the standard ones will be like in the flesh..

As for the wheels I think the wheels need to be 20" to fill the arches better and there is a 20" option that is no cost iirc, but they're a horrid design... So in theory you could tick that box so you have the 20" rubber sell the wheels for 1k+ then you have effectively 3k to buy some tasty aftermarket wheels if of course you didn't like the twin spoke 20"s.

I really need to be sensible when going through option list...

If you want to look at the standard seats just have a look at any 520d/530d M sport in the showroom as they are the same seat but with electric adjustment as standard.

The no cost 20" option is misleading as they are tied to the £6700 competition pack option so only a no cost option if you spend £6700.

The design is very similar to standard sports seats and with a headrest M logo in the leather.

The great thing about the M5 is it's superb straight out of the box regardless of options, just been across the moors on my favourite b road which was traffic free and what a car! A proper machine.

Having said that I've started to do a few mods to the car so far I've added:

1. Black gloss grills
2. M performance interior carbon trim

Next up I'm booked in for some ACS lowered springs and 12mm spacers all round at the end of the month.

I'm looking at getting these black gloss side grills as well like this to match the window surrounds and grills:

Bought in complete from the US by these guys, they use the OEM part and then finish to your spec.

I have that and it looks much better than anyone thought it would - BMW wouldn't allow it if it looked ste, surely wink

From the outside you can only just see the red leather, from the inside it makes life much brighter cool

I'd certainly spec it again albeit next car will be darker so I've yet to make my mind up.
