Hmmm just had a look and it seems so.
Quite a few AUCs nearing the £30k mark.

This one would be my pick! LCI and full leather lick

I've looked at that car a couple of times (online).

It looks a bit fishy, the climate controls are set in F, not C, and it's suspiciously cheap for the age and mileage compared to other LCI cars BMW are punting. Perhaps it's a foreign car?

I was ridiculed elsewhere for suggesting that these would drop in value like they are. It's very typical of M cars, especially large engined and complex ones, like the F10.

I look forward to further drops before I get mine.

I imagine they'll follow a similar depreciation curve to the E60, perhaps faring slightly better long term depending how reliable the engines turn out to be compared to the V10.

DVLA says it was registered on 25 Sep 2013 so seems like a UK car. I'm pretty sure temperature units would be switchable, maybe the previous owner disliked the metric system?

I think the low price is due to the lack of options (asides from the full leather). Also looks pretty dirty in the pictures which might put people off.

Yeah, fair enough. If it all checks out it does seem like good value, but the mileage may make warranty interesting if you plan to drive it a lot; IIRC renewal gets a lot more expensive on M cars post-60,000 miles.

No different to every other car in this sector. Buy cheap & expect them to depreciate. BMW discounted these cars from the off so 45% drop in 3yrs & 50-55% in 4yrs is about average for this sector. Just appears a scarier figure when you look at it in ££'s rather than %age.

Spot on didn't help when dealers like Sytner advertised pre reg cars with a massive discount to list, I am sure I saw a black special edition with carbon brakes for £75k list was £105 ish there was probably a deal to be had too.

There's a Jan 17 competition pack with 10 miles on the clock at my dealer up for 59k.
Serious depreciation right there!

Plymouth have a rather nice looking delivery miles car too. http://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/M/4.4-M5/Plymouth/369626...

It's way more than I want to spend, but there seem to be some huge discounts available if you want a 'new' one.

In terms of depreciation it is all relative . One car mag I read recently had a Golf of some flavour on 12 months test - after the test it's value was around £15k less than it cost .....

I guess as the G30 M5 will be along fairly soon. Depreciation will likely kick in then on the late F10's. I'd be looking at a 13/14 plate so as not to take such a hit if budget is a concern

My market analysis app picked up this one last night. Competition pack too?

Amusingly, they first listed it at £4000 smile

Yes, I agree with you. As such I'm looking at 63/14 plates.

Yeah, I want to see the photos as it doesn't sound too appealing!

The app is just something I've written myself to keep track of available M5s while I search for one to buy.

If this had comp. pack, the rest of the spec colour etc would be perfect for me

That looks like poverty spec to me? Almost everything listed is standard.
