I'm interested about this also. I am planning on making the jump to an F10 from my E39. I know I will miss my E39, especially as I'll be driving something lesser for a year or so, but I think it'll be worth it.
Anyone?

This thread is really useful. Thanks guys!

I'm also in the market for an M5, preferably white. Options that I'm ideally looking for, MF seats, reverse cam, ski pass / folding seats, 20 inch wheels. Mileage ideally under 40k, full BMW service would be good too. Cash waiting and I'm London based. Thanks, Derrick
It is indeed a great thread-nice change for PH hehe

Found one CP in moonstone and phoned to check few details only to be told its sold,

Have done few more enquires but the offer they have made for my car is like 6k in negative equity which is roughly over 40% depreciation in about 9months !!! and that is after I had a full discount I could get on that car.

Not had an E39 M5, but had a 530d, and a E60 535d.

To me, the E39 felt like it was hewn out of granite, very refined car & handled amazingly well for such a heavy car. My E60 felt much newer, better tech, as you would expect, but it had lost some of the feeling of being beautifully built.

I looked at the E60 M5, but a poor gearbox, horrific fuel economy, tiny fuel tank & a rep for being fragile put me off... A real shame as the V10 sounds incredible, but it just wasn't an every day proposotion for me.

However, the F10 M5 feels like a modern day E39 to me, ultra solid build quality, the gearbox is amazing, the engine is basically a tactical nuke, that can be upgraded to stupid power with a simple remap. Handling is back to incredible for such a big car, & it really justifies its M badge.

The best bit, is at the touch of a button, it changes from a docile, quiet cruiser that does all the irksome daily driving without fuss in 5 series
Comfort, to a fire snorting, tyre shredding super saloon that can give a bloody nose to most high end sports cars without breaking a sweat.

Had mine two weeks tomorrow, safe to say I'm quite taken by it!

This. It's the first thing I've driven since a 458 that changes its character so much between full comfort mode and full lairy mode. For a BMW that's high praise indeed.

I also had an E39 and the F10 is much closer to that than the E60 was, in my admittedly limited experience of the E60.

How negotiable are BMW dealers on AUC cars? I see that AUC cars are actually well priced.

Or, can you buy private and get it covered by BMW's warranty company?

I'm in the market and looking for a bargain myself, whilst checking the AUC website which I do few times everyday, a CP M5 on a 16plate appeared at my local yesterday so enquired about it on a online chat so had a call today saying it was priced wrong at £47500 it was actually £49900 and I have to be quick as it wont hang around for long at the price !!!!! yeah right.

Was looking at an other standard Lci M5 under 10k miles, priced very keenly and was in the market for ages and reduced from over 40k to 36k but when I decided to have a look and booked a test drive that I was told its sold.

My advise is, be patient as there are plenty coming in and there are few which are on for sale for well over 6months, as we get nearer the time for new M5 the F10 will keep dropping.

As for how negotiable are dealers, I think if you finance a car through them then there is a very much possibility that they would drop the APR from scandalous 10.9 to more reasonable 6.9 or probably more plus you can negotiate an other years warranty into the deal.

I'll probably look in around 6 months time. Hopefully values will have dropped a bit more, especially with the upcoming release of the new M5

Could someone please check if this car is still available.

http://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/M/4.4-M5/Leeds/3696268-6...

http://www.stratstone.com/search/vehicledetails/us...

This car was in the market for over 6months and very keenly priced as well so I booked a test drive last week for tomorrow but when I asked them specific questions about any accident repairs or body work and few other technical things they came back saying the car is now sold but its still advertised on their (Stratstone) and AUC website. Not saying that its definite that the car is still available but I have a feeling that if its not sold then there is something wrong with the car.

that's their phone number
0113 853 1074

Thanks

I think that car is actually quite expensive given that it has no options on it. You're paying a lot for the low mileage...

I know it has no option but if you look on AUC website you will find that a decent spec one is over £40k+ with over 30k miles hence my interest.

If someone could please ring them to check if its still available and if it is then I'm definite that there is somethings with that car.
It was available for me to test drive today and only when I asked few question about accident repair and other few things they came back saying sorry its sold but still being advertised.

However are these not well specified as standard?

I got my late '14 car, with lots of nice options and 37k on it for a lot less than £40k.

They are, compared to a regular F10, but I still wanted a few extra bits such as folding seats, the HK stereo, the 20" wheels etc... If that doesn't bother you then crack on!

Looks like they have inflated the screen price.

I do want a decently spec'd low mileage example but there are few and well over £40k.

That's fine for me. I do <5000 miles a year so keeping it for a few years will still see me well under the 60k cut-off.
