Struggling to decide on which tyres to go for ?

Have given the standard 16" bbs alloys for m3 in for refurb, should be back next week but I now need to find some new rubber for them.

I will only be using the car for shows and occasional weekend trips, no track or daily commutes and most likely not see any winters lol.

What would be the best tyres to opt for?

I have seen toyo proxes t1-r or khumo ecsta both around £60-£70 a corner

Not much available for the size I need which is 225 45 16

Any reviews good or bad needed.

Thanks

FWIW, I have had both on previous cars at different times, and preferred the Kumhos..

Thanks for input mate.

I would love to get some Conti's or Michelins but not seen any for the sizes I need.

Conti Sport Contact 2 are available an I have them on my car. Grip is OK but they are soft on the side wall, so steering response is not as good as the now unavailable Goodyear F1 I was using previously.

Im currently using Toyo and have no issues with them, have done several track days on them and they have been well suited for my needs. Ive used Khumo too on a set of 15" and to be honest it was hard to feel any difference between them and the Toyos.

Will say the same as Stevesingo though, the sidewalls on the Toyos have a bit of give compared to Michelin etc but no issue in the scheme of things. I think you would be happy with either especially for what you intend to use it for.

Thanks guys.

Will place order with tyre leader later today as they seem to be cheapest so far.

I have Toyos on mine too. No complaints, especially for what they cost.

I'm running R1-R's on mine. Cracking tyre.
Do the Federals come in this size now?
Jim.

Shame. I have 215's up front on mine, although they're also 17's.
