E90 v E92 - price differential
Discussion
After much to-ing and fro-ing between C63 V M3 I've decided to get back into an M3 (had an E46 many moons ago).
As I only want 1 car and have a small thing called a "child" I need the saloon rather than the coupe. This presents a problem......there are very few of the buggers about (especially with EDC and DCT which is a must for me - and I don't like white cars which makes it even more difficult) and that rarity means you're paying a significant premium over the E92 for the same spec car.
Do you think this price differential will always exist between the two? Is the saloon REALLY more sought after than the coupe!?? Or is this a false inflation which should be taken into consideration on price negotiation on purchase?

Supply and demand. Less than 1 in 5 E9x M3's were saloons.
And unique in being the only E90 with an E92 front end (though not 100% identical).
Don't dismiss a non-EDC car if you haven't tried one. The ride is excellent. Similar to an E39 M5 IMO.

How old is your child? I've always had coupes and they've never been a problem with kids - they learn to walk when older .
Slightly softer ride I guess, but it will be marginal. And they are quite rare.
Back to your original question, the BMW dealer that I purchased my E90 from 3.5 years ago was on the phone a couple of months ago asking to buy it back! And based on a recent trade price from my local BMW dealer I've lost a maximum of £2K in depreciated a year!
Regarding spec I wouldn't listen to any "must have" options rant. Obviously more kit is better but DCT, EDC, wheels, audio, etc are all personal preferences.
I wanted DCT but didn't care about EDC after driving both. Early E90's must be around 7 years old now so buy on condition and history.
Personally I think an LCI E90 looks way more aggressive and purposeful than the coupe... but I'm hardly impartial

Sorry I can't help with your search but I love mine . Definitely worth waiting for over the coupe. Mines on standard suspension and it's great although sometimes I do wish it had 18s. Especially in the winter.
I have a set of immaculate genuine BMW 270M 18" wheels shod with Michelin Alpin BMW* marked tyres for sale if you're interested, 7mm of tread on the tyresEdited by NelsonM3 on Thursday 13th August 19:31
I had one of the early non EDC cars on 18" wheels, it's a really nice set up I also had a late CP car on 19" with EDC again that was lovely probably better due to the improvements they made to the car and the addition of the CP tweaks but I wouldn't walk past a well price non EDC on 18" as they are nicely set up cars.
I did however put some 19" on that car with PSC+ tyres (well we like to tinker don't we?) but I preferred the look of the 18" if I'm honest suited the car as it was boggo spec but somehow suited not being blinged up.

I love my more door m3
It does have edc, but is a manual (which I like) I bought the car on condition/extras/condition I could care less for the edc, never really use it, it's set at 1 red light when the m button is on.. But personally unless tracking them - I don't see a huge benefit for a former ride on uk roads..
I was surprised at the rear room in them - great cars
