E90 v E92 - price differential
Discussion
I have an e90 DCT with EDC, dark blue with black 19 alloys, it's a great car. So much space in the back and the boot. The handling is great, having EDC does tighten things up for the corners, though too much for the common rutty roads we have in the UK. They are certainly more exclusive and on that basis will hopefully hold their values better as most people like rarer cars, but time will tell, they surely won't depreciate more then e92. Great family car!! Ps don't forgot the folding rear seats are an option which I forgot to consider when I purchased secondhand.

After much umming and ahhhing I've finally pulled the plug and ordered a e90. Should get it end of the week. Can not wait! Wife requested a car with 4 door that was practical . Was tempted with a new m135i, which I had a test drive in and it was brilliant, just a tad plane and I dont feel it's going to tick the special box like the e90 will. Having said that I have bought this e90 without a test drive, never done that before! But having bought from sytner in Leicester in the past I am confident it's going to be a corker!
Wonder if it needs an oem exhaust mod

The saloon looks worse, almost like a standard 3 series. It has no carbon roof.
The coupe is the sought after one imho.
Can't you just buy a coupe?
Looks are subjective obviously but you are so wrong......the saloon is the sought after variant hence the rarity and higher pricesThe coupe is the sought after one imho.

The saloon is sought after purely because of guys like the OP (slightly more practical), the coupe will always look miles better!Just my opinion, not having a dig...

So desirable that only 1 in 5 bought new were saloon?!Reason they are rare now is for that reason.
Whatever the reason historically it's clearly rarer today which makes it an interesting proposition. I am totally bias of course as I have an E90 LCI parked in my drive

New now the M4 is available whereas talking to 3 of my local dealers they've sold out of M3 allocation
Don't get me wrong I like the saloon and glad they made it but it isn't really any more desirable than the coupe, especially the early cars, the saloon only got its act together looks wise with the LCI model. It also competes a little more closely with the c63 IMHO.
I can't help but feel it's just what some say on here to make themselves sound different or superior to the masses.
Saying that I wouldnt say no to a Melbourne red E90 on the Ferric grey 18s.

I've just sold my e90 and I would say that the e92 is the better looking car, however the saloon is definitley more aggresive.
The e90 definitley has a Q car appeal but also gets appreciative looks from people in the know. This is something I really liked about the car and if I was ver to have an e9x m3 again, I would be buying the 4 door.
Interestingly the dealer I part ex'd to sold it within two days, so there is definitley a good level of demand for decent examples.

Precisely...on all points.I can't help but feel it's just what some say on here to make themselves sound different or superior to the masses.
Whereas, with the F-series, the saloon actually looks much better proportioned than the coupe, which is just too stretched out, particularly widthwise.
I had a E92 M3 and I prefer it to the saloon and I have had two E90 Saloon`s as well, I just see a Coupe as a more sporty looking car whereas I just see a Saloon as a boring car almost Taxi like if you must.
Yet the Coupe comes with folding rear seats as standard so not only do you get the better looking car you also get the one that is more practical and miles better at carrying stuff so its a win win, the only reason you would want a saloon is because its lazy and arguably easier to get the kids in the back than the Coupe.

wow picked up my e90 m3 this morning from Sytner Leicester. what a car!! Looks same as MW-M5's pic, White with the black alloys. Coming from a e46 330ci, this car has so much power, huge amount of gizmos! Best car I've ever owned!!
I like the carbon roof and the rear lights on the e92, but compromised as wife said we need a 4dr. Rather like the salloon look, reminds me of the old WTCC
