Any advice on these choices?

Healthy shocks on mine, looking at getting the drop 50/30 and focusing up the car for road use.

Are the kw coilies good quality? Wll i notice it?

Would go with the KWs at least you'll be able to adjust them
I had them on my old 328i and KW v3s on my Z3 M Coupe

Did you fit them yourself?

Also, did you need to change the droplinks?

Just swapped out H&R for KWV2's on my E30 M3 and am extremely happy with the end result. I had to buy offset rear top mounts, as being a true coilover on the rear, the spring was fouling the lower wall of the turret. In truth, I may look at softening the spring rates slightly for the street, but on track they're just about spot on.
