Currently have an E61 M5 that has piled on a few too many miles. Need an estate car. Need 5 seats. Need M car like power

Quite taken by the new F85 X5M. A local dealer has one in Long Beach Blue that looks stunning in the flesh.

I know that the latest M5 and M6 has seem some sizeable discounts from dealers... is it starting to look the same for the X5M?

Sticker on the car is £93k and dealer has already come down to £85k without batting an eyelid - is this the size of the discount on these cars or are people seeing bigger discounts?

The spec on the car is good, but perhaps not perfect - I'm not an order it a wait type of person preferring to take my pick of the cars in stock at any given time. Are people seeing plenty of dealer stock on the X5M or is this stock car a one off??

Apologies if I should have posted this in BMW General rather than "M Power" - BMW does seem to be positioning this as an M car - but let's avoid that religious debate!

I looked at these recently and the dealer wouldnt move a penny... maybe it was just too new at the time? Sounds like there is now some movement but personally I think you should test a new Cayenne turbo before you decide.

This. If I was spunking £80k+ on a luxury soft roader I'd be looking elsewhere.

As above, probably a Range Rover or Cayenne or even Panamera.

My opinions (note the my) are specific cars epitomise their marque/brand so if i was looking for a 911 it would have to be a Turbo/S/GT3, i'd never be happy if i had a Carrera. Same applies to these SUV's, the Q7/X5/ML are all fine but the RR is the one i'd be after if looking to spend some serious money. If decision is which X5 then i'd be looking at the X5M50D rather than the X5M, but again that's just my opinion.

Nice X6M in listers Kings Lynn, same colour as you are looking at, IF wanted a fast barge, the X6M would be my choice.

Push them hard if you want it they are hard to deal with this year (for me anyway), you should get a discount though, it's been in the showroom for ages.

I've had an Range Rover, X5 and Cayenne over the past three years.....Cayenne was the better drive by far and would be my choice of SUV again.

They have an identical sounding car in the showroom and in my experience will strike a good deal.

You should be able to do a cracking deal on one my dealer has one in that colour I really like it but I wouldn't walk past a cayenne turbo for one.

Might be worth find issue 212 (Sep 2015) of EVO where they group test the X6M, Cayenne Turbo and RRS SVR.

Thankfully though the cayenne turbo is one of the few cars Porsche make that comes well equipped you just need to add some decent wheels as it comes with full leather/nav/adaptive seats etc...

Don't wish to be a nob, but the mere idea of someone spending north of £80k on an X5 or X6 is absolutely laughable.
There isn't an uglier car on the market today,

I have to be honest as am in full agreement (although the X5 isn't as bad as the X6).

Worth noting O/P that Range Rover i'm told are doing cracking deals on the FFRR & Sport i believe as they need to shift the non Euro 6 compliant cars before the end of Sept as they've been told they can only sell the newer Euro 6 cars after the end of Sept to some stock needs shifting.

No idea, was a pal of mine who's had several RR's that told me. They need to shift all current before the end of Sept as can't sell the non compliant ones after that.
