MPSS vs Cup 2's for the road
Discussion
Yes, on the Z4MC. Despite no problems with the MPSS on road mileage, the Cups are getting eaten up on the inner shoulders on the front. Had the suspension geometry checked over and over, but can only come to the conclusion that road and motorway mileage severely shortens the lifespan on these, and a thread I posted about it most people agreed.
I have been considering mixing Cup 2s at the front (they come in OE size) but keep the PSS at the rear. I know it should be a recipe for disaster but I am still hoping to neutralise the chassis although the Cups might take longer to warm up (?) and dispel the water differently than the PSS.
How stupid an idea is that and why ?

Interested to hear how that works out as was a thought i had briefly for when i'm on back to back track days next month. In the end i bottled mixing & opted to just fit brand new MPSS. So annoyed that Michelin don't manufacture the Cup 2's in the OEM rear sizes, so also bottled on going non standard size as i felt the risk was too great for track work. How stupid an idea is that and why ?

Thinking of moving over to the Cup 2's when my MPSS's are up for renewal, anyone done this change for road use? M6 f13 BTW.
See above. Can you get the Cup 2's in the OEM rear tyre size as on the 19" wheels Michelin don't manufacture them & i'm pretty sure the same applied to the 20" option wheels, fronts available but rears not.Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
