I went on a Palmer day a few weeks ago in Bedford Autodrome and they had 6 or 8 M4 GTS'S. I really enjoyed thrashing it round for 15-20mins it really is confidence inspiring great breaks can carry huge speed round and cope with unloading and loading up direction change. The noise well it was fine but v the V8 and the E46 M3 I've driven that's certainly inferior. But performance it rips you out of the corners.
Looks - these were white and liveried up /I liked a lot. I struggled to get in with the roll cage and helmet on but only did once in and out so didn't know the technique

It appears these are 'only' stripped and modded track M4s with 425 bhp, still along way from the 500 bhp GTS. Looks - these were white and liveried up /I liked a lot. I struggled to get in with the roll cage and helmet on but only did once in and out so didn't know the technique
I had to check it out because I was somewhat miffed thinking Palmer Sport got nearly 30% of UK allocation!

Im hoping BMW eventually do justice to the M2 and make it something special. Dipper in and fingers crossed.

Thanks! Impulse got the better of me!Picked it up today. Only a short drive back home, but what a car!!
Drove it back yesterday. Only a short drive but absolutely loved it.
I read a lot of commentary on the web comparing the GTS to 991 GT3s. I can’t compare in detail yet as I haven’t driven the car enough. Compared to my old 991.3 GT3, I think the GTS is much more a sense of occasion to drive. The media coverage suggests the GT3 may be the better car technically, but the GTS made me laugh out loud yesterday in a way that the GT3 never did.
Pic below, next to its great uncle!

Looks lovely, got very near to buying one earlier in the year, went a different direction.I read a lot of commentary on the web comparing the GTS to 991 GT3s. Please keep us updated with your experiences
Thanks! Some initial thoughts from the drive home:
Ride quality
- very firm ride but not crashy
- (maybe I need to check the current suspension settings)
Noise
- sounds absolutely amazing
- didn't drive it too hard, but with open valves in sport/sport+ it sounds incredible
- doesn't sound bad in regular ('efficient') mode either to be fair
Looks
- has real presence and I think the last of the decent looking BMW coupes (am not a fan of the G-generation M4)
- very aggressive and I love the frozen grey paintwork
Handling
- feels very planted on the road, I didn’t experience any jitteriness but admittedly didn’t have a chance to take it out a long drive
- handles beautifully, I really liked the steering feel and turn-in
- very firm (as mentioned above) but I think the settings have some adjustability
Cabin
- interior is superb, especially the LED wheel and carbon bucket seats
- the manual AC controls look a bit dated!
- it only has speakers in the back, but clearly this car was designed for different purposes!
- would be interested to know if anyone has improved the standard audio system
Overall
- 100% an occasion to drive
- from my brief drive home, it seemed more 'fun' than the 991.1 GT3 that I owned a few years ago
- I’m sure that motoring journalists will have us believe that the 991 is the better car (and I’m sure it is!) but I'm not a good enough driver to exploit either cars to make such judgements
- the M4 GTS made me laugh out loud, something I've only experienced in a few other cars (and not the 991 GT3!)
Looking forward to getting some more miles on it!
