Extraordinary number of white, low mileage E92 M3 on AUC site. Is it a coincidence or has a special fleet been released?

They didn't make a E91 M3.

Thought I saw it mentioned on here the other week that these were track-tuition/experience day cars

Are these the Sytner ones? If so there's a recent thread on M3 cutters about the possibility of them being ex track cars.

Probably the experience cars from Palmer Msv. Had a deposit on one a couple of years back, took a few calls to find out the real history. I think it's wrong of bmw to be doing this, dealers aren't upfront about it either.

Saw that thread too....I thought it wasn't quite as clear cut as being ex-track cars? Sounds like some had service history and had just sat around in storage after being management cars, as opposed to being caned.

If they all have new discs and pads and tyres there's a strong hint at what they were used for...

There's a white E90 M3 at Eastern which is unusual - looks good.

The PMS M3s were stripped out, caged, LPG converted and ran different pads and springs IIRC, so they would have needed some work to get them back to standard.

Begs the question though if these are not them where did they go?

These have been confirmed by Sytner as ex Palmer Sport 'M3 Master' Experience day cars. All are on new tyres and discs. I agree that it's pretty off by BMW to be releasing these to the dealer network to the unwitting buyer. None of the dealers, understandably, will admit the car's origins unless you push them for the truth. I wouldn't mind, but they're not very cheap for what they are, bearing in mind that one track mile is said to be equivalent to 10 road miles - making these 5-10k mile cars have the real world equivalent of 50-100k miles of wear on the engine and chassis...

Sytner Leicester rang me the other day asking if I was interested in an E92 M3 coupe......

Now it makes sense.

Crafty b*stards.

Even after a refurb I wouldn't be happy to buy a car that had been hammered around a circuit hundreds of times by would-be Hamiltons.

I'd want them on a new engine as well! The cars were heavily modified and as anyone who has been on a PMS day will know, driven like you've stolen it and then some. They take a proper battering, far more than the Porsche experience cars that also go back through their network.

Just checked and all the White ones on AUC are DCT and I thought they would be, I would have been okay as mine was white but I went for the proper three pedal manual instead...

I think its very poor that BMW are willing to sell these on...the dodgy so and so`s.

I think it's fine selling them on, if they'd been transparent about the fact, and had reflected the fact in the price. However these are priced like any other car of that age. I'm sure BMW would have let the lot go very cheaply seeing the 'active' lives they've had.
