Fine. But most people wouldn't want to buy such a car if they knew its history – that's the point.
Which is exactly what i have been saying that the dealer should have told potential buyers of the history then its up to the individual if it suits them or not.

Well after all this, they've nearly sold them all!

Unless anyone has asked very specific questions, they'll be none the wiser unfortunately.

There are two at Sytner in Harold Wood.

They looked stunning and you'd be none the wiser.

I'd use it as a bargaining tool if I was in the market for one.....I think they'd be fine BUT would worry about shifting them later down the line.....so would only buy on a cheap PCP to ensure a smooth, hassle free exit!

Most people who walk onto the forecourt of a dealership wouldn't know about the history of the car.... It would only be someone who is an enthusiast who visits forums that would think to question its prior track use.

The cars will all sell.

Ive driven at least one of these cars (pics below) and they were well looked after cars, but they were daily tracked and it doesn't excuse not telling customers what they were used for.

Here's one of the ex palmer sport cars up for sale. The obviously didn't revert them all back to road spec

The Palmersport car I drove at Oulton Park in 2015 was nothing like that spec.

Stock Calipers-upgraded pads
Stock exhaust
3point seat belts
No carbon wing or door panels
Stock steering wheel
Stock Handbrake (H.Brake delete would make this car illegal for the road)

Yeah AFAICT the experience day cars were run with different wheel/tyres, upgraded pads and nothing else
When you bought one from Sytners it had the original unused wheels/tyres refitted, new brake disks/pads and a fresh service.

I bought one with 2000 miles on it back in 2015.
Brilliant car, like new, no problems at all and when the AUC warranty expired it was covered by the std BMW ext warranty (they were aware of its history) at the standard rate.
Bought it for £32k and traded it in for £30K 18 months later for an M4 at high discount.
Now wishing I'd kept it.

The last sentence is quite intriguing......;-)

Very apt for this thread to pop up. I know someone who is selling one of these ex-MSV 'GTP' cars (with the full cage, carbon door cards etc). Unsure if its one of the LPG converted ones though.

It has 27,000 miles, very well maintained and they are looking for £31k for it, think I could get it for £29k though.

Can't decide whether that represents good value or not. I guess the question to ask is could you achieve a similarly focused track car by buying a stock E92 for less money and then converting it... and I think you'd struggle.

Whilst under no illusion that these are fully fledged MSA logbooked race cars, I do think its quite cool in terms of provenance to have an ex-MSV car as a track hack than buying a standard car and converting it.
