For the first time in 17 years I do not own a car. Sold the M135i yesterday to a nice bloke who paid in full same day without even driving it. No bartering, no dipping fingers in the oil sump and moaning about wear etc.. Just a pleasant simple process, I wasn't relishing 15+ test flights from time wasters so glad I avoided that.
So now I have no car I shall be saving the ecosystem by cycling the 15 miles each way to work and back for the next three weeks or so. Call it evening things up with the environment until wc: 30/11 when the M4 and x5 arrive. 😊 please can you all pray for three weeks of unusually warm, dry weather

Good on you for the cycling in winter. Have you done a test ride ?
Did u sell the M135i privately and did you get a good price in relation to age/mileage? Early cars on average mileage seem to hover at around £20k.

Tested the route a couple of times since clocks have changed. All good, for the money I've spent on decent lights and winter gear I could have bought an old banger to drive ha ha. Oh well this is more adventurous.

I'm happy with the price I got, not sure if it's "a good price" going by others for sale seemed about right. Estoril blue 5 door 13 reg with 20,000 miles all options apart from adaptive suspension. 23k

15 miles each way? You are brave sir! My commute is 20 miles each way but I certainly don't fancy cycling there during winter.

I too own M135 36k miles 13 plate 5 door black with all the toys, even sun roof. Thinking of selling for something a little more economical so tried to get idea how much I can sell. WBAC plus 1 dealership so far offered 18k.

I've had quite a bit of practice over the summer to be fair average 200 miles a week on the bike. The only tough but is the weather. If you want to compare my car to yours he advert is still on the classifieds. £22995 reg EJ13 UXK
I'll take the ad off in the morning when I get to a PC at work.

Cheers smile I used to have a 5 mile each way commute which I've cycled to work a few times however that was during spring/summer time. I sweat a lot so that wasn't really practical...

I will most probably sell via p/x so expecting slightly lower prices and have to say you've done very well selling without any hassle or bartering smile I've just watched Schmee150 video on him collecting McLaren 675LT and I think I would somehow regret going down diesel route though...

I fitted a shower into the office bathroom in the spring so all set up for sweaty arrival.

Confident on sticking it out, I quite enjoy cycling but I have to say it's all about the kit. Good bike and tyres essential and then there's the clothing, yes in Lycra I resemble a potato in a condom but once you get it into your head that you look cool and embrace it (the reality is irrelevant!) then it makes the journey so much more comfortable.

On the car sale subject I only had three calls. Listed it in auto trader and on here two calls from dealers offering 20k and one private guy who bought it. Ad was up for two weeks initially 24500 (got a have a crack hey!) then dropped to 22995 for week 2. I'm pretty chuffed it sold was getting concerned I'll be stuck with it when the new cars arrive.

Sounds like you have the right mental attitude, and if you've been banging out an average of 200 miles per week then you'll be absolutely fine. That's way way more than I have ever averaged !

Hi mate,

Have you been given a build week for your car?
Reason I ask is because I think I ordered my car a week before you and I have been given build week 48 for delivery around the 12th December.
I'm getting a little excited that you have been given a date of w/c 30/11 as in theory mine should be around the same as you smile
Hoping my dealer is being over cautious and not wanting to promise me too much!

Good luck with the cycling but the weather is awful at the moment, I'd have hired a fiesta for 3 weeks and gone to the gym to keep fit instead!

Fair enough, your dealer may have had a build slot reserved already.
5 more weeks for me then!

dealer update - My cars are built! M4 sitting in the dock awaiting its boat, x5 on route to the dock. apparently that means potential pick up for me next week for mine and the week after next for the Mrs.

Still cycling, legs aching and the novelty is wearing thin! plus gales and rain forecast for tomorrow! groan....
