Test drove an E63 M6 @ the weekend.....

Well done on your choice silver stone really suits the M6
Let me share my recent experience, have always liked the 6 series so when the opportunity arose this year I bought a 55 plate M6 in July 40k miles in interlagos blue silver stone leather interior full main dealer service history.
I was advised to buy low mileage and get a warranty which proved uber good advice. It developed an engine fault after 6 weeks (at a steady motorway cruise ) which turned out to be a broken valve Spring on cylinder 8, an engine out repair.
Final main dealer bill was approaching £7,000 with a few new parts vanos bits, new fan but my contribution was just £100.
I use it everyday for business although I know that's going to be difficult if snow arrives (I haven't got round to selling the KN yet ) but I absolutely love it. The engine the engine it's all about the V10 for me. The SMG takes some getting used to and is pretty awful in grandad mode but pressing on in m mode its splendid fun. I prefer to drive it tapping the gear lever as its a better feel than the flappy paddles.
And even HQ likes it (she hates the KN )
Enjoy but my advice unsurprisingly would be to buy a BMW warranty with it

Thanks Stever. Interlargos would have been my preference with the Silverstone interior. But there's not that many with the light interior, I found the all black too dark, a little oppressive.Let me share my recent experience, have always liked the 6 series so when the opportunity arose this year I bought a 55 plate M6 in July 40k miles in interlagos blue silver stone leather interior full main dealer service history.

I believe it depends on the mileage when you take it out (60000 being a pivot point) and whether you have nil, £100 or £250 xs. I paid it upfront about £1250 with £100 xs. Sorry I don't know about the higher mileage cost but if you phone the warranty company https://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/LandingWarranty?gcl... they're most helpful.

Absolutely agree with you I'm not keen on dark interiors and actually Silverstone blue on the outside would have been my 1st choice if the right one had come up but having said that I'm delighted with Interlagos Blue and the car generally Stever said:

That's the best colour for any M coupe, the Z4M coupe looks awesome in that colour tooHere's a quick pic of mine on the phone have some better ones on a proper camera

Bloody hell things happen very quickly at that speed, thankfully no Doris on the autobahn at night hogging the outside. I bet the adrenalin was pumping after that
Time to do it is 4am on a Sunday morning..around Weisskirchen near Frankfurt. No trucks and excellent sightlines. I was following an identical M6 so really no worries. Certainly you do tend to be quite alert heading for 200 MPH...zainster said:
You'd be surprised how much faster the V10 in the M5/M6 is than the AMG, might not have the torque to match it but it revs to 8250rpm!
Autocar tested the E63 M6 from 0-150 mph in 20.9 secs, 3.5 secs faster than the time they got for the supercharged E55 AMG. To put into context, by the time the V10 reached 150mph, it would have covered 256 yards more than the AMG at the same speed! (that's more than a couple of football pitches!?).
Only if the AMG is not moving.Autocar tested the E63 M6 from 0-150 mph in 20.9 secs, 3.5 secs faster than the time they got for the supercharged E55 AMG.
