Great colour you've chosen. Very rare as I found out as that was the colour of mine and I never saw another in the same blue.

You must have exceptional taste...

Haha yes ! Great minds think alike.

One of my friends found out that there are only 3 UK (Euro RHD) Imperial Blues and my one will be the 4th.

I think this was based on data from the first half of this year, but I don't think things have changed that much.

Also only about 197 Euro RHD M6 GCs in the UK too

Update on my M4. ordered 22nd October, delivered to dealer today. so 1 day short of 5 weeks order to arrival at dealers.
although they have to fit the mperformance stuff to it so not collecting until monday (i suggested pulling their finger out and saturday would be a better plan!)

yours wont be too long now hopefully, mine has taken a week from the "at sea" notification to arrival at dealer.

my x5 however which was ordered on the same day as the M4 still hasnt arrived, that is due monday 7th so more like 7 weeks for that one for some reason.

Congratulations mate !!

Yeah I do hope my one will arrive soon. I am flying off on the 5th Dec and back on the 23rd Dec and really want to bring the car back home before flying out rather than leaving at the dealer until my return.

Its going to be cut pretty fine here. According to your M4 timeline my one should arrive at the dealer on the 2nd.....fingers crossed !

PS : How is the cycling going ? smile

Thanks mate, cant wait to pick it up.

cycling is shall we say damp, chilly and dangerous. even with top of the range lights the cars and trucks seem to still fly by me at 60mph an inch from my elbow. shat my pants too many times so i made a well worded humble call to my BMW salesman to see if he could do anything to help. we have a renault scenic thats my wifes current car (replacing with the x5 hence that order). the scenic has just lost all its heating and its bloody freezing and keeps misting up.
after explaining that i am kinda buggered and my 2 kids are growing internal icicles every time we have to drive them anywhere he took pity on me and yesterday gave me a loan of a brand new 1 series 116D until the x5 arrives at no cost.

It was very kind of him and i must say has ensured i shall always use that dealer in the future. he really has gone the extra mile to look after me (Chris at Elms Stanstead for anyone wanting a South East Dealer recommendation).

So now the wife is happy in a warm 1 series with the kids and i am more than happy in a freezing cold battered renault scenic (that has roof and windows and less likley to get me killed on the way home from work).

The bike is in the garage where i think it will stay for a few months now ha ha.

I placed an order with deposit for an M6GC on 7th November and have just been informed it is 'scheduled' to be built week commencing 11th January.

I have to say I am somewhat underwhelmed by this, I always thought this a 12 week process give or take a week or two. I know there is the festive period to contend with but even so.

My order form estimated 30th January for completion and collection which fits with what I have read elsewhere and told by other dealers when enquiring on a new build build earlier in the year.

I note from this thread people have waited far less than the 12 weeks benchmark, I cannot believe once built this will all come together fairly quickly from there and thus I am facing upwards of 16 weeks from point of order.

What are peoples views on this, am I being a little ungracious here or am I right to feel disappointed and if I am honest annoyed with this.

How can it take 2 months from order before it goes into production? I have asked the dealer to shed some light on this and awaiting their response but rightly or wrongly this has left a somewhat sour taste.

Thanks for any views and input.

What did the dealer say the ETA would be when you ordered?
I ordered an M4 on the 15th October and I was told before I signed it would be delivered end of December.
I was hoping it would be earlier and it now looks like it will be week commencing 21st December.
The mad thing is the car left the factory on the 27th November so it's still quite a wait even after it's been built.

Hey, so my dealer told me I'd get it in week 49 (Commencing 30th November).

I did actually get it on the 4th December. Put a deposit down and ordered it on 30th October. But I was advised this car was already approved to be built and I could add options on to it, but no Individual items.

If you have the chassis number keep calling BMW customer services and they tend to be able to update you better than the dealer.

My one left the factory on the 16th November and arrived at the dealer on the 4th.

This is my timing schedule and some pics of the car on the day I picked it up :

Finally got it !!

All went to plan.

The handover was quite fun actually. Its a personal first time for me getting a brand new car.

Put 150 miles onto the car the night I got it wink
