Thought i would start a thread for those that have been fortunate enough to secure an M2 build slot for 2016.

Wanted to find out what colour/spec people are going for and if they have had this locked in with the dealer.

I am the first build slot at my dealer and have been told August 2016 and have gone for the following spec:

- Long Beach Blue
- Manual
- Sun Protection
- HK stereo
- Power Fold Mirrors

May well add some of the carbon when the prices get finalised.

Tempted by white also, but keen on the LBB as it is the launch colour and not available on the M235i.

Alpine White
DCT
Sun Protection pack
Visibility Pack
Seat Heating
Folding, dimming mirrors

Carbon rear boot spoiler

Possibly add comfort access and Camera but haven't decided yet.

White with all the carbon will be awesome. Be interested to know how much the parts will cost.

I was originally set on the manual but

1. The GFV values makes the DCT a rather cheap addition
2. I cant kid myself, my work commute is basically an 45-1 hour of traffic crawling every day - i love my ZF auto for this ...

I will admit I didn't expect anyone to go for the manual for the reasons you mention, and in stop/start traffic a manual can be a big pain I agree.

Plus the DCT is quicker, I would go for a manual though purely because I think the M2 will be the last proper M car to be offered with one.

I drove my M4 to the PHSS in Wales last week and the Welsh roads made me happy I had gone with the manual cloud9

I agree too, but im buying this as my usable, traffic, daily car so my head is telling me DCT. Plus ive got the GT3 RS if I need a manual fix. Thats my reasoning anyway.

Dealer hasnt got prices of M performance parts yet. No doubt a rip off.

I've gone for
Long beach blue
Manual gearbox
Electric memory seats
Heated seats
Harmon kardon
Sun protection glass
Internet

Pretty basic spec as I want it to be a proper drivers car like my old E46 M3.

I can't wait for the dealer call. I'm number 1 out of 2 at my dealer. He's had no news on build dates yet which is a shame but I hold out hope I'll find out soon! I was having naughty thoughts of upgrading to an M4 if the discount is right (I.e under £50k new). I'll keep dreaming and just try and be patient.

Nice spec , but internet is rubbish. Slow and clunky.

Long Beach Blue
Visibility package
Sun protection package
MDCT
Comfort access
Electric seats
Harmon Kardon

All provisional prior to August 2016 delivery.

May drop the MDCT depending on reviews of the car when the Journos get them. White with motorsport stripes would be interesting colour option but in reality I'd never go for this...
