car has just covered 12500 very gentle miles. No trackdays, all city driving. Starting around a week ago, the steering has become extremely sensitive to every bump in the road..honestly feels like it has been lowered and fitted with a smaller profile tyre (car is standard wheels and suspension wise)...first I thought it was in my head, then i checked all tyre pressures which were ok, the tread is ok, when driving on a completely flat surface the tracking is ok...it reminds me of my old e46 M3 steering which was horrible over poor surfaces. I vaguely recall someone on another forum mentioning they had a suspension component changed but cant remember exactly what...any help or suggestions would be most welcome. A brief googling has possibly implicated the control arms? But at this mileage surely that would be very unusual?

First check should be your wheel alignment. Highly likely that a pothole has knocked it out and it can have a huge impact on handling.

Good luck!

I would check the tracking M cars are dreadfully sensitive to it, every time I've given mine a KDS it has transformed the traction and handling.
