I'm back in an M for the 5th time.
After an E36 x2e46 and an e39 I figured it was time to try an e60.
I'm picking her up on weds can't wait. I'll show you some pics and details when it's with me.

Yeah went to look today. Lovely condition will need a few normal wear and tear items soon ish but I got a good price. Stacks of history from bmw and one or two specialists.

Fingers crossed it's not a massive mistake.

What part of the country are you picking it up from ?

Did you have a test drive of one, they take a little getting used to.

Just outside of London.
I drove it with out going too mad. As far as I could tell it's just the smg that takes getting used to but I've had a few e46's with it and I must say I really like it.

Yes it's the SMG that takes a bit of getting used to but if you've already had it on the M3 then you know what it's like. I've never had any other SMG BMW but from what I've read the SMG 3 on the M5/M6 is a lot better than SMG 2 on the E46 M3.

If your near London we might see you at one of the Pistonheads monthly summer evening meets in Surrey.

Well I'm finally home alert a massive detour thanks to the m1 being shut all day.

First impressions wow it's fast. But much more refined and quiet than I was expecting.

I need to have a proper play and get it all set up how I like but I'm very impressed so far.

Smg 3 is better than I remember smg 2 and I lived that

Congrats on the new purchase. They're certainly a good looking car. I found the SMG occasionally dimwitted but nothing I couldn't live with. Had I kept it, I would have certainly gone for the exhaust mod to make it a little less quiet. smile I don't miss how thirsty it could be though.

Had I kept it, I fear my licence might have become a thing of the past. Effortlessly quick.
