F10 M5 - service schedule before hand back (contract hire)

Correct
You would be billed for about 550 miles at whatever rate your contract says per mile
Pro-rata you're over that's the point.
You could argue but I think you'll lose
That seems very weird and makes no sense even from BMW's point of view. The alternative is that I don't hand it back until end of the 36 month term (in March), I don't use it between December and March..... so I end up paying the same in monthly payments (compared to if I handed it back in December), but no extra mileage charge even though BMW get a car with identical mileage back (compared with handing it back in December)..... they simply get the car back when it is 3 months older and thus worth less to them. You would be billed for about 550 miles at whatever rate your contract says per mile

In my case I wasn't over the mileage, the car almost certainly needed a big service had I kept it and new tyres were on the horizon so it was worth two lost payments for me.
May be different for you

That's simply down to maths, the car, your new car, double insurance etc.

Yeah, I understand what you are saying; I just think it is a bad deal for BMW as they are taking the car back when it is worth less to them as it is 3 months older. Oh well, I'll have to have a think! In my case I wasn't over the mileage, the car almost certainly needed a big service had I kept it and new tyres were on the horizon so it was worth two lost payments for me.

Yes you can and I did exactly that,
No you didn't, as you explain below:HoHoHo said:
Once and only when you pay the settlement figure you arrange a collection date, that is a date if your choice.
His question was; could he return the car early but continue to make the monthly payments when due?Sheepshanks said:

The answer in which case is a firm no!
Sorry to have misunderstood
