Gear change in my z4mc is lovely - has a much nicer direct and shorter throw than the last e46 m I drove

FWIW had I kept my Zed I would have probably done the clutch valve delete just to see if it works or not!

Having owned both, plus a E36 M3 Evo (which is the same 6 speed box as the E46 M3), I would agree the Z4M has a much better throw & shift action, just feels more connected.

My E46 has a short shift kit on it. One thing I liked about the Z4 change was it was a very short throw as standard
