E61 M5 Touring values increasing?
Discussion
When i had mine you could transfer the warranty if you had the remains on an annual policy with nothing owed. You could not do this on the monthly policy and a new owner would have to start a new policy which meant you could potentially lose out on the cheap rate that we used to enjoy (sub 60k miles).

How would BMW know where you bought the car from (private or dealer )? The warranty is linked to the car not the owner.
Fair question - it's rather doubtful that they're keeping an eye on the 2nd hand market. But should a claim arise they could ask for proof of purchase, particularly if it's shortly after the transfer. It's sort of like scraping a wing on a post, paying to fix it yourself and when insurance renew time comes round saying you've had no claims or accidents. Not strictly true but you probably will get away with it.

Pretty sure only if it was a private purchase, not through a dealer/trader. Have checked a few policy docs dated 08, 09 and 10 and they all read pretty much as I quoted in my earlier most.nwates said:

Thought that might have been you! I was going to test it on Sat! I was really hankering after the low mileage one from John Holland, but it's now gone too! Bit gutted now... But that'll show me for procrastinating too much!AW10 said:
