I feel pretty confident messing around and showing off in a powerful RWD car with a manual gearbox but I wouldn't behave in the same way with an auto/DCT though.
In fact its as easy and just as safe in a DCT car....plus if the back starts to slide you have the option to upshift, as you have no break in applied power the reduction in torque will bring the rear smoothly back into line combined with a slight easing of the throttle if required.
Thats good to know and I have very limited experience with DCT and RWD and all my reasonably powerful RWD cars have all been manuals so that is all I am used too.

Only issue is in S3 with your foot in the transmission thumps the gear in unsettling the car hence people often still find themselves in trouble.

Even in "auto" D3 if you mash the throttle at 80mph it feels like the rear axle is going to fly out of the back as the gearbox makes a hard shift from 7th to 3rd subtle it isn't. hehe
