m6 2008 sat nav searches france first instead of uk ??

anybody know how to change default /start up on sat nav , my car has come from france (been over there 2 years!) but when i put in "new destination " it starts at france , then every other country but uk right at bottom ! Is there any setting to start in uk first, instead of big scroll down ?

Have you actually gone all the way through and set a UK location as the destination and allowed the system to calculate a route? At that point the last used country should be the default country for future new destinations.

yes i have put in about 4 uk destinations , but perhaps trying to delete france it has defaulted back where i have been clicking on it ? is that how it works , goes back to last country entered ? thanks

Sounds to me like it's had a French nav DVD loaded onto it. That would be my guess, seeing as most UK ones start with the UK at the top and all other countries alphabetically after that...

could be , the car started in uk , but went to france for 2 years , it has lots of countries when you scroll down, can i buy uk one ?

Yes any BMW dealer will flog you one. Saying that, your car will probably be the later NAV system which is hard drive based. I suggest asking your local dealer/specialist about it. From memory they're a tiny bit more complex than the older "just stick a new disc in" ones.

ok , will put in a uk address first again and see what it defaults too, bit of luck it may work, well annoying though ..

See if there's a home address in the address book that's in France - if yes delete it and put a UK one in.

Think i have found it , there is like a target guidance bit on it , and it was on france , moved it to uk and now seems to be come up uk at top ... thanks guys ..
