Hi all,

Interested in where you bought your E46 M3 from? Private/Dealer? How much you paid and when if you don't mind me asking.

I'm looking around at the moment, but haven't found anything I really like the look of. Would be good to know of any specialists I may have missed?

Looked at a dozen or so before buying mine 4 years ago, there were plenty of ropey examples around and mileage was no indicator of condition.

Ended up with a one owner car with 84k on it which cost me £7900 and felt tighter than cars with half the mileage and another £3-4k on the asking price. Bought from a trader who picked up part exs from main dealers and mainly dealt with little Alfas, Fiat 500s, Minis and the like.

I paid £13.5k for mine last year from a private seller. I couldn't be happier with it.

50K miles
SMG
Estoril Blue
Black Heated leather
CSL Reps wit hnew Conti M3's
All options bar rear blind.

Possibly slightly expensive but there were only 2 EB SMG's for sale at the time. The other was a grand cheaper but something just didn't feel right about it. It's still for sale.

On the flip side I bought an absolute dog of an M3 from a so called specialist, who I had to threaten to take court to get a refund.

I would advise buying private.

Coupe
96k
Individual Techno Violet
Black on black interior
Manual
FSH
Folding mirrors
Bluetooth prep (now replaced with cup holders)#
subframe welded with reddish plates and injected.

Mine has 132k n the clock and feels great. Do not be put off by mileage. They are meant to be driven.

Mileage is no guarantor of condition. I prefer buying private so I can see what the buyer was like. You want to know if they have looked after it. These cars will quickly tell you if something feels wrong.

We need to see pictures of that.

It's my favorite M3 colour. Unfortunately there were none for sale when I bought mine.

2003 Carbon Black, red leather, manual.

Bought privately four years ago for £7800 on 126000, now on 141000.

It's the longest I've kept a car. I love it. Here's to the next four years!

Mine is a 2003, coupe, £9.5k 59k miles about four years ago.
It's individual Aegean blue, pale grey leather, manual, virtually every option (inc sunshade and minidisc player!).
Cosmetically it's a bit tired now; needs a new windscreen, front fog light, front indicator lens,& a front end respray required. Mechanically it's well looked after, had the subframe checked at BMW with no issues reported.

Yeah have asked the buyer as well as running in service. Even budgeting a subframe repair seems a good price.

Is that mileage missing a zero, or do you only drive it twice a year!?

Try these guys, they are enthusiasts and know the cars. Got mine from them and despite a lot of the things which tell you to run I've had no trouble with it in 10 months. I think they only take on cars they would want themselves. They are well known on cutters

No it's not missing a zero, it's a complete labour of love.

Been fettled over the years to get it to be my perfect m3.
