Picked this up today. Loving it so far. Carbon Black Manual Coupe, full spec with the exception of the rear blind.

Congrats on the recent purchases! Did you all buy privately or through dealers? I'm looking at the moment and whilst there are good cars out there, there aren't many that are ticking the right boxes for me and a lot seem to be with dealers rather than privately. I normally only buy privately but maybe I need to look at some dealer stock as well....

I bought privately in the end. Ally he dealers that I could see seemed to be charging big premiums, or seemed questionable. Viewed a couple from dealers too which weren't the best. In the end this one came up and I was the first person to view and subsequently buy. Seemed to me it's a sellers market, lost count of the amount of times I enquired about cars that had already been sold.

You don't see too many on the roads now. I think people are realising that values are firming up and rising in some cases and are long term garaging their low milers.

Mine isn't one of those examples. Not mint, but I think the shape has aged well, and it attracts its fair share of attention when I'm out in it.

A definite future classic IMO.

Mine was a private sale
2002 SMG Coupe - AP Racing brakes, AC Schnitzer exhaust, apart from a couple of stone chips on the front immaculate inside and out. 75k miles - £9995. I looked at a number of overpriced dogs though

I made all the classic mistakes. High mileage (a mistake in some people's eyes, but not mine), 7 previous owners, the first one I looked at etc. no rear subframe work done, but 4 years into ownership, it's absolutely the best car I've owned and I will be very reluctant to sell it. It's looked after by Autokraft in Earlswood and Noel has given it the thumbs up.

Lucky I guess, or are the negative forum threads a bit too influential?

I've just uploaded my ad in the classifieds (I won't paste link as assume that'll get removed), it's an 02' manual with 18's, lovely car but not using it...
