You can get £20k off at Peter Vardy on a new one.

Yeah looks like they've added a little bit off Apr then deducted it again through contribution?!? Same figures when it was 0%....

So yes still a complete bargain

There's a nice blue one near me on the AUC scheme, it's up at 36k... 8k under sticker on that!?

Absolutely, also look how long its been in stock, if its close to 3 or even better 6 months they will want shut ass, even at a loss. I supply dms systems to oem and big trade, trust the timing. The may laugh at 8 but go in talk and just say 32k. I got my e39 for six less than asking and it was an auc....

I wouldn't bet on it. Been trying this for over 6 months now lol.
I am quite bad for it. Seen a few up for 42, 40, 38 and try to knock off at least 6k. Most ignore me, some gave me a bit of time and said they only have 1 or 2 in stock and no need to get shot but not sure if they were just chatting the chat.

however since I made those offers prices have dropped a lot across the board. I would say most have dropped around 2-4k. most cars I seen 6 months ago are still there.

There are a few private ones up 13 plates less than 30k miles for 32k odd.
Not sure how people with 2011 plates feel they are worth around the same.

go figure

6months on a car is, mmm, 6 months older and will have depreciated more. Do people really think that a)bmw are desperate to sell auc and b) they have 8 k profit in a 35 k car???
If you hit the timing right at, say the end of a financial year or a quarter you may get more off than normal.

No one is buying the ex lease cars, so they will take a hit (or the dealers will), better to sell at 32k with a small loss than at 28 for a bigger one

So can I get a better deal on ex-lease ? The BMW dealer cars are all at 36k-38k+ and independents all at 30k-35k for pretty much the same thing. (2013 cars, 15k-25k miles) I checked a few service histories given the comments earlier in thread and the independent cars had been serviced - only difference is not at BMW dealer.

Given cost and complexity I'd prefer to buy at BMW dealer but is a years warranty from BMW worth an extra £5k ?

When I sell in 3 years time will anybody know or even care it's an ex-lease car ? Some of them are ex-BMW staff lease cars which surely must be good value ?

Why don't you save the 5K then spend some of it on a warranty.

Huh? Won't 90% of these cars be ex-lease? And who knows or cares if they're ex-lease anyway?

probably a number of people, many are under the impression people with lease cars will have no mechanical sympathy dues to the fact its just rented.. and tbf there prob is a lot of truth in that... main concern would be driving hard from cold..
Do even M cars let you rev hard when cold?? not attempted it as i let mine thoroughly warm up but i seem to recall older ///M cars have lights on rev counter to indicate safe rev limit??

I meant the bulk of used will be ex lease, it wouldnt bother me lease or not, my point was to say these cars hang around like a bad smell at the dealers so you just wait till you see one go in and count, towards the end of month 3 you start your talks. I saw a couple hang around at Dick Lovett, now all vanished so probably hit the 3 or 6 month off to auction route.

The main main thing on these is the run-in service anyway. I have an ex-lease F10 M5 (13 reg but facelift with the new navigation and steering wheel) and it had its RIS done on time (1200 miles), and its mechanically sound with no error codes showing at all. (I have Rheingold software on my laptop)

I bought it for a good price back in December as I said that "I can buy it right now or else it'll be lying on your forecourt until March most probably" - I got about £2k off and it wasn't badly priced to start with. It also suited him as it was just before Christmas and he was taking his holidays the week after I bought the car. I can't see how one would get £6k off, unless its been hanging around for a few months and they haven't updated its price in accordance with its current market value.

Well if the chap above took your approach a few months back and said "give me your march price now and its sorted" he'd be on a 4k price drop...

Well my car was already £2k under the nearest comparable car. I don't think I came away too badly.

I've been looking for the right car at the right price for a while now and while a number of cars have sat on the site for a long time, the majority of cars that come up competitively priced from the start tend to shift quickly.

I missed out on a 64 plate, fairly low spec but 20" wheels and service pack (most of the ex-lease cars don't seem to have this) and just 5k miles was listed at £42,995 sold in a couple of days. It was orange which is probably a bit marmite, however the majority of other 64 plates are over £5k more and have now been sat for a while. Stratstone Derby have 3! which they keep dropping by a few hundred quid that they have had since at least December. Must be a nightmare to shift, particularly as I understand their policy is that they don't negotiate.

I don't really get anything used around the £50k mark or above as you might as well buy new with the £20k discount available. Some of the pre-registered cars are actually more than the discounted new price.

I'm pretty sure that one of those cars at Derby has been reduced by almost 6k since coming in stock before xmas. I went to view it a couple of months ago when it hit 36k, it was a mess but the salesman gave me the usual bull about it only just coming in stock and not yet prepped. Was taken back by the no negotiation attitude too, had the car been in a presentable state I'd seriously have considered buying it on the day.
