Heard from Coopers BMW yesterday and I'm now apparently their 1st allocation for 2017.

Ordered April 2016 so a 9 month wait if all goes to plan. Not too bad I don't think
Yep others have dropped out.
Lets hope even more drop out then biggrin

M2 does look good in black, super car I was tempted to trade my 1M but decided to keep it. If anyone doesn't want the wait for the M2 I can recommend the M240i the new B58 engine is truly epic.

I got mine on Friday.

Did only about 30miles so can't say too much on the car but a few initial observations :

- firm suspension but good side of firm and definitely much improved damping from the M135i. Resolute body control for sure, so very different than the wholly out of control feeling I had in the M135i but definitely harder edge on urban roads there's no denying it.
- gearbox seems ok but too soon to tell really.
- It feels a bit lazy in comfort. A bit laborious dare I say it in throttle response. Sport is better but am taking it easy of course as its in run-in period. Haven't been pedal to the floor so could really be just a throttle mapping thing whereas my other car requires millimetric inputs.
- sound is good. Definitely better exhaust than the m135i.
- steering is quite a bit heavier than the small M. Maybe a bit more feel but too early to tell.
- I ordered manual seats to sit as low as possible but feels they still don't go low enough. But maybe it's because I was coming from a weekend in a super sports 2 seater.

New idrive is a welcome bonus with nice new graphics at the expense of being a bit more complicated to use but am sure it's just b/c I had been using the old one since the V8 M3.

Interior I can't help but feel is a bit of a letdown and full leather/alcantara interior should have been offered as optional extra.

Sytner Chigwell have been very good. And the sales guy Robbie was super enthusiastic. Fitted the M grills for free whilst I signed the paper work and were generally very helpful and knowledgeable about cars. Which is rare.

I was offered the gap insurance by their finance guy which is of course 5x more expensive than ALA insurance online.

Will add more impressions as we get along.

Congrats and good to hear an honest view. That's my local dealer as well.

Nice write up. Mine has arrived and is proudly sat in the dealers front window until we collect on Saturday.
Still a bit unsure about the color (blue). Happy with the chrome line exterior trim though looks loads better than black.
Probably the only one in the UK with shiny trim wobble

I love the exhaust sound this makes, i think they got it right. I pops on overrun too

So much nicer than my Womans M3 (F80) it sounds shocking, absolutely ruins the car for me

And I am convinced that the "leather" in the M2 is not leather. It's a cheap imitation I'm positive.

The exhaust was addressed in the 2016 M3's and M4's after they did the Competition Pack cars. But you're right, the M3 F80 did sound terrible, especially in Comfort mode.

After my first post at the weekend asking you all about 2017 allocations and thinking about bailing out and ordering a 718 Cayman.

Yesterday morning I got a call from Elms Stanstead offering me build slot for delivery in December.

After a quick call to VWFS to see what the penalties would be for returning my Golf R early (it's on contract hire, they want 55% of outstanding payments)

The man maths calculator did that sum in half a minute and decided to grab the opportunity to get a car with guaranteed delivery before the Road Tax bands change.
