I think BMW need to pull their fingers out of you know where and get the production on these cars up to speed. They created the hype, people want the car, it is worth every penny if you ask me, and now it is time to make them and sell them - that is how you make money as a company. Probably the only M car they won't have to discount heavily out of the box.
Exactly. Someone hasn't really thought this situation through, have they?
Or maybe BMW have pulled their fingers out and taken a leaf out of Porsche's book biglaugh

I agree with comments interior is pretty low rent though - I'm not asking for F06/12 style swathes of supersoft merino leather, just not brittle plastics and dakota 'leather'. At least in the 1M the car had a skunkworks type feel to it so it was acceptable and the iDrive always seemed an afterthought.

...Still want one though. Black or LBB. Manual. But if I had to wait 3 years for one, I'd rather have a used F10 M5 now for 35k wouldn't you?

Mine is due 28/05/16........ Ordered 15/10/15
Cooper Ipswich told me I would have the first in Suffolk having ordered first!!!! You can imagine how shocked I was to see a LBB one coming towards me yesterday!!!!
Went into dealership who said they'd sold their demo for a premium and the new owner has already taken delivery .......
They'd previously told me that they weren't allowed to sell the demo for 3 months!!!! Not happy with BMW under hand tactics!!! They didn't even contact me to say "come and have a look"
Absolute SH#T customer service

Me too, LBB was my favourite but after seeing the colour in the flesh at my local dealer the colour didn't look as nice as I thought it would...so Black for me please.

Eh? You're angry because someone else has a new car before you?

It's sold already.

I was in on Sat. Lols. Was told 2019 by them...... went down the road to lotus instead.
I've been a long time BMW fan, over half my cars have been BMW. I was looking for a new car, spending much more than I ever had done so was considering the M4 as much as anything. Very unimpressed with the current BMW range.

So I went to Lotus, bought one of those. Absolutely overjoyed with it. Feels like a Ferrari competitor not BMW (in the specialness and feel front, if not outright pace)

I am very impressed with the car... it was a V6 Exige a drove, i have a Z4MC now. I suppose at some point they were in a similar competition (old Exige).

For me id love and M5 or an M4, but im super tight (Scottish and an Accountant) and i couldnt handle the depreciation on either of them.

Needed something to hold its value well, and be an absolute riot to drive.

I guess i just need to make the numbers work.

I'm guessing it was MMC you visited? Try an Evora, they're epic. Yes more expensive than your Z4MC but the early ones are holding money extremely well.

The Z4MC is a great car, lots of fun, but quite flawed and in my opinion difficult to live with.

Didn't realise they could sell it for a premium too? I was first in the list and a 'demo' car was sold ahead of mine too! Surely you should have been offered first refusal on this 'demo' car? I have had a dippa an LOI on this car since Nov 2014!

don't think it's a fair cop for someone to be able to walk into a dealership and walk away with a car that others have waited months for and left their hard earned to guarantee their intention!!!!!!

Yes agreed, just seems inconsiderate when a dealership should be trying to encourage a relationship.

Why not, it's your money they're after nothing else. Everyone keeps ragging on about my dealer "did this" and "they didn't do that"....they are out to make money first and foremost.
I have bought an expensive'ish new car late last year and when I return to the dealer the sales guy can't hardly spend 30 seconds with me (I'm not that boring) but I'm not in his pipeline of sales so I'm not really on his radar relationship wise as he has already has my money.

When you understand that we are a means to a financial end then their actions will become more understandable.

Your first comment is obviously correct due to what we're experiencing ,but they're missing a trick, I'm in retail and a good relationship with the customer will forge trust and there by potentially loyalty to maybe the brand and definitely in this case at least servicing, aftermarket parts and eventually maybe the purchase of your next car!!

As soon as BMW sort the Leipzig production line out, which is happening soon, the arse is going to to fall out of these and very quick. You will be able to get one late this year, they aren't limited run they are just limited by the single line at Leipzig at present.

Sell now if you are flipping.

Anyone buying one of these as an investment, being sucked into some of the dealer bullst of its limited etc is a bit of a fool imo. Anyone collecting now or say the next 6 months will probably make a couple of quid if they flip but after that I doubt it. Maybe it will be cheaper motoring than an M4 but thats it.

Ive already heard of some dealers getting extra allocations for this year.

Im buying because oddly out of all the cars ive owned in the past 13 years of driving ive never specced my own and bought new. and the M2 is about the only car in a semi sensible price bracket that gets me excited.

Ive had a lucky few years of owning appreciating (or zero loss) cars, R26R, CSL, 997 RS maybe its time to suffer from the traditional depreciation smile

Personally cant wait for mine, even if I do loose a few quid.

Spot on. Mine's not coming until November (ordered last October!) and I can't wait. I want to drive it and enjoy it, stressing about depreciation and dealer allocations is a complete waste of energy.

Now I don't feel quite so bad that mines coming in September. Also ordered last October.

I'm No.2 at the dealer and was told initially I would have it by June. I think at the time they were guessing. Just depends what slots the factory allocate them. Another dealer in the same group already has their first customer car. My dealers 1st isn't coming until June.

Still silver lining at all that, gives me more time to save to help justify more carbon
