I just love the quad exhausts on these things. You just don't expect it on an this type of vehicle.
Shame it's not got Arragon Brown. That goes well with LBB.
I do like the brown a lot, and if buying new would probably spec that. But the Silverstone looks good and contrasts nicely with the LBB, although from experience I know it's a pig to keep clean.Shame it's not got Arragon Brown. That goes well with LBB.
Picked the BEAST up today. It's the only way to describe a car of this size with such surreal capabilities This engine plus 4wd and the smoothness of the ZF 8-speeder makes for a mind-boggling drivetrain.
Love the colour, love the interior (which really is very indulgent and so, so well built) and the M Multifunction seats have to be some of the comfiest perches I've sat in (love the way the backrest pivots in the middle so you get tremendous shoulder support without having to sit upright).

Great colour inside and out! I rather like these too... though I'd probably go X5 M - maybe next month eh
You can grab one for £34k with 17k mileshttp://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/M/4.4-X5M/London/2453166...
You should all hang your heads in shame liking this! This was supposed to be a CONTROVERSIAL thread
As for the ambient lighting, well, now it gets a bit silly. There are three separate zones - the dash and door strips (where you see the blue), the doors (to light up the handles, armrest and pockets) and the footwells. Each of these can be set with their own colour of blue, amber or white so you can, if you so choose, have a white floor, an amber door and a blue dash. I never claimed the beast was a tasteful machine! My chosen combination was slightly more subtle - blue dash, white everywhere else. And I believe this very useful feature is in fact standard on the M!

Enjoy the day - it's awesome and I hope you and your wife-to-be have a wonderful time! It's not game over in my book, it's a new chapter, especially if you've been together ages it confirms what you already know I hope you're well buddy (what have you got these days?) and yeah....the wedding. As for me, I'm still in the 330d Touring as we now have a bouncing little 15 month old who keeps me entertained. I unfortunately came rather close the being no longer here last month though (story here) so I'm suddenly a little more short term on finances so have marked some maturing shares as an XKR/V8 Vantage Roadster fund...

Cor blimey, sorry to read that...you lucky fella! Glad you came through OK. As for me, I'm still in the 330d Touring as we now have a bouncing little 15 month old who keeps me entertained. Yep, I very much have the 'live for now' attitude (as if you couldn't guess) and an XKR/V8V would add some more candy to the local area Get it done - IMO, 'XKR' for the better car, Aston for the cooler/better brand. The latter are amazing value and bought right, probably a free car. Unlike my free falling beast
Marvellous....especially in LBB.
Must admit I prefer the looks of the X5M to the X6M, but I do rather love the absurd mentalness of these beasts.
During 'discussions' with my dealer about my near future 135i replacement, they offered a £27k discount on an unregistered X6M they had in the showroom....as were keen to shift it.....it was Silverstone with Silverstone interior, but IIRC, it was lacking those optional superb multi-function seats, so I politely declinded
Another local dealer though has had a X5M in LBB/SS combo and with the MF seat option on and off in the showroom for a good 6 months, but aren't desperate enough yet to knock 40k off the list price

Palmball - how are you enjoying the car?
Impressive. Very fast, refined, well made and it really does feel a special place. Done a couple of trips down to the big smoke and on a normal motorway run it seems it can even do mid-20mpg's. It's interesting to compare with the GLE63 AMG we had for 5 mins last year (and the ML63 AMG we had for about a year before that); it's close between these cars. The Merc's are more comfortable (way better driving position in the Merc and they ride better on their air suspension) and have nicer steering. Obviously the Merc's also sound much much better. But this X6 counters with a more direct feel, more modern design (especially the interior), it has better seats and a significantly better transmission. Neither are 100% perfect but then both offer a range of abilities that's mind blowing compared to regular cars.

I think it looks absolutely awesome Palmball. I have the ambient lighting in my BMW X5 40e Hybrid and I love it. Have it set to blue everywhere. As for the ambient lighting, well, now it gets a bit silly.
