I would agree pictures dont do the M4 or m3 any justice.

There is a yas blue M4 vert with silver wheels (hate black) and silverstone leather (I think) and it looks incredible. Much like you I found the stance stunning and there is a clear difference in the looks between standard 4 series and the M car.

The M3 is also stunning. On a trip to manchester I seen one, Yas blue again with white leather. I couldnt help but feel so envious of the driver on the excellent sunny day (with a hot girl in the passenger seat too) LOL

I find the m4 ugly and awkward looking.

The m3 is just sooooooo much better looking and would be the car I would choose if I had a choice (which I don't)

The front of the m4 is fab, the m3 is nicer I think. The M6 front lovely as it is isn't as aggressive?

Don't despair. There are rumors that BMW will bring out AWD M cars from 2017/2018.

My view exactly.

That in mind I was looking at a RS6 however it works out better to buy new then used. For that reason I am off the RS6.

I am now looking for a used M6 coupe (2014) year. The first owners would have lost ste loads of cash.
A 2014 AUC car will be 50-55k, you'll lose about 700 a month over the next 3 years, similar to the guy who bought new....given that they are 68k or £750 a month after discount.

Just bought a nearly new M6 with Competition pack.

It is quite good beer
By chance is it grey?

What is she like in the wet? That is my main concern! I am not a super-driver. I asked BMW for a test drive in the wet and they went quiet on me!
Singapore grey.

I have no intention to turn TC off in the wet.

It's got plenty of go but just needs some respect.

My weekend car has no driver aids, not even power steering or servo brakes so not really a problem.

It's an epic car by the way,

Get one, you know it makes sense.

Anyone that doesn't must lean on the TC a hell of a lot if they're driving the thing to enjoy it.

...and yet I think the total opposite. For me the M4 has cleaner lines, from the front to the rear, with the absence of those rear doors (which is why I bought it over the M3).

But hell, it'd be a boring world if we all liked the same things! wink

They have the same front end it's identical, I prefer the overall look of the M3 it looks squatter, meaner with the flares etc.. hence I got the M3, the M4 is softer to my eyes but still both lovely in different ways.

Leave the TC on don't do anything asinine, and you won't have a problem, the car will look after you. I drove an M6 GC down a sopping wet M74 recently, at a fair lick, and the cars ability was magical. I'm not one of those heroes who turns off the TC and tries to do it myself.

I spotted a white M4 in the Norwich yesterday and I must say I was very impressed.looked great it white with carbon roof and spoilers. It's the first car in a while I would consider over the C63.

Agree the M3 looks better than the M4 but I want a convertible so it's not going to work.

The other problem I have at change time is that Mrs BC and I have got used to taking our bikes out using the BMW tow bar & bike rack. The tow bar is not on the options list for the M3 or 4. frown

M3 looks better you say.....

In all fairness I was also one of the m3 looks better crowd before I got the m4 but a few changes to the m4 and it looks awesome IMO. I do love the brutish arches on the m3! I love the sleeker lines on the m4 however

I did mess around with mdm in the wet yesterday just for a feel of it, I didn't exactly go wild but all seemed controllable. I would never try TC off in the wet as I am an average driver and no "driving god"

I've known your name across many forums as I've owned similar cars rs3 and a45 amg I've been looking at m4's as a replacement for my 45, have you had the latest software update that sorts the skittishness out on the m4? If so what do you think?

I saw a singapore grey PC M6 on autorader recently. It was up for 54k which seems like a good price.

Out of interest do the M6 and the standard 6-series have the same body? I have a S5 and the RS5 has flared wheel arches for sure. I notice the difference on the M3 and 3-series. I could not find anything on this on google.

The rear quarter of the M6 is the same as the standard 6, the front wing is a different part number.

The roof of the M6 is different as it's CF.

The doors are the same as is the bonnet and boot.

The main body skeleton is different.

I've had roof racks in the past but they never seem as secure as the tow bar. I also have a back problem so getting the bikes on and off the roof could be an issue.

I will probably compromise with a 440 M Sport Convertible. Not exact a hardship. wink

Edited to add that with bikes on the roof I could end up on this thread. - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
