Any other new M2 owners on here? Just got mine a couple of days ago, and still in running in mode! Love it so far!

Any manual box owners out there? I have one on order (delivery sometime in 2017) and heart says manual but head says DCT. Just wanted to know whether the manual box on the M2 is the typical notchy affair that BMW M cars tend to have or have they managed to remedy the situation?

Ours is manual. We decided from the outset that we preferred manual for this type of vehicle. Most of the road tests I have read so far confirmed our decision.
I haven't owned a BMW for over ten years previous, so don't feel qualified to offer a comparison.
Haven't really driven ours sufficiently yet to form an experienced view, but neither have I any complaints so far.

Mine is manual, which is fine for the sort of use and driving I have in mind. The DCT option would certainly be tempting if I was doing more driving on motorways or in the city!

Cant wait to get the running in period past and start giving it the beans!

Are you a Siamese twin? Or do you suffer from dissociative identity disorder? Just wondering.

My order is for a DCT, but thinking I will change it to manual. The mileage will be limited to A/B roads and country lanes at times where traffic isn't an issue. Good to know that people are not complaining about how the box feels or shifts.

I see where you are coming from. No, I can assure you I am not!
The car belongs to both myself and my wife, I was merely expressing my own opinions. Hope that clarifies things...

Have mine for a week now LBB, 6MT, wonderful driving machine. After used to own a E46 M3, E92 M3, E82 1M al 6 MT, this M2 has the best 6MT by far, I would say the best 6MT ever from BMW

The shifts are short, easy and precise, the clutch however is somewhat on the light site IMHO, and it lacks a little bit of feeling too, but it is very easy to use, all your girlfriends could drive it too ;-))

The M2 is a very refined machine, the 1M more raw and brutal.

I had a test drive with a M4 DCT, and to be honest; in auto mode I didn't like the DCT at all, flipping the paddles was top notch, but IMO the Porsches PDK has the lead here (I have had also a 981 Cayman GTS PDK) the PDK in auto mode is just unbelivable good, no just sublime, so inuitive that you can hardly comprehend how they`ve done it.

That was the main reason I bought a 6MT again and I do not have any regrets what so ever.
