Hi all,

So we're looking at various options for a new car.

On Sunday we drove an F10 M5 - A nice solid car, and seemed pretty quick [in rush hour A-Road traffic nearing SPECS - not the most fun test drive] - but purposely didn't push it as reset the trip computer to get an indication of MPG (It got 19.4 BTW).

I like the F10, but I LOVE the F80 in styling - much more exciting to look at I think.

What are they like to live with daily?
- My other half will use it for a shopping car and dropping the kids to school during the day.
I'll use it at weekends (retaining an old diesel for the station car park).

Although I love it, it seems difficult to get my head around spending so much on a 3 series.

Was also considering a new MY17 E Class, AMG C63 saloon etc - need to try a few things before deciding finally.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Wife has a F80 M3 after trading in her F30 330d m sport. She's not had it long but she loves it and is really pleased with it so far.
It is used for the daily commute, for her business meetings up and down the country and for shopping and taking our 2yr old to nursery etc.
Obviously the running costs are a lot more but its the price you pay to have such a machine.

She can get mid 30s on a long motorway cruise which isn't really that bad.

Her boss had a c63 amg and he rates his m4 as a better car.
