Love that blue!! I have been looking over the last couple of weeks and the colour choices for M5's are really limited. Really like the orange/red colour and this one (sadly a little on the pricey side!!):

There really arent many of the interesting coloured ones about either..........

Not as much as an M6 in that colour would have!

I don't think they stand out, but those that know, know. (which is a good thing)

I agree 99% of people don't give a second glance to mine which is the way I like it too.

My comment regarding standing out was specifically the colour of Sunnydude's ( Sakir ? ) . I also like the fact that they are generally subtle .

I'll never forget the feeling the first time I mashed the throttle at 80mph....it was like stepping on a bomb.

Mighty car.

I'm referencing my old M5, my current M3 not in the same league above 80mph.

Yes, I wasn't clear.

Which car do you prefer? What are the big differences? Trying to decide between the two myself.

Big differences they are chalk and cheese really,

M5, much better inside lovely in fact, silly amounts of power and very stable at speed but a bit detached and aloof.

M3, a big step down inside, feels a lot smaller, lacks the M5's howitzer up front but much sharper/nimbler and sporty more fun to drive.

I was originally looking for something cheap and cheerful 2nd hand, but after seeing an M5 in Monte Carlo blue I knew it had to be mine!
It is quite astonishingly fast, but oddly enough it's the only car I've ever owned that I don't mind being sat in traffic.
I find it such a pleasant place to spend time that nothing else really matters. Don't get more wrong, mashing the throttle and enjoying what happens next is a life affirming and joyful thing! But so is plodding along serenely. Oh dear that does make me sound rather dreary and beige.

Goes like a rock star at a post gig party, and kicks back with a soothing embrace when you want to relax.

Couldn't be happier with my, rather extreme, change of mind.

How does it compare to the M6 GC?

The M6 GC is a friends, would be rather greedy to have both!
From the passenger seat the M6 feels a bit more nimble. Sharper turn in and rolls a touch less.
It's kind of strange going from one to the other as the engine and gearbox are the same but the clothing is different.
Like an M5 that's dressed up for a night out smile
Both lovely cars.
Not a great deal in it to be honest.
