E92 M3 Warranty Renewal

The warranty on my M3 is up for renewal next month and I have just been quoted (over the phone) £1,771.99 for comprehensive cover with an excess of £250.00 on the basis that my car has covered 64k miles.

Forgive the obvious question, but is there a viable alternative that other owners have have realized?

Did you perchance have a different reg plate assigned to your car in the last year?

Yes I did.

Try ringing the BMW warranty people back but give them your old reg plate...you should get a much better quote.

Sadly tried all the options but still came out the same as the original quote.

Additionally, vehicle insurance is also due and from BMW ( Allianz really) with a 22.5% increase in the premium over last year, and when asked they were unable to adequately substantiate why.
Last year’s premium £380.30 this year’s renewal £466.67.

Waiting for email confirmation of the verbal quotation from Ageas – Optima of £398.00

Hopefully there won’t be any warning advice from the Piston heads knowledgeable about Ageas – Optima ?
