That is a bargain still not sure I’d be brave enough to run one without a warranty. Less than 60k it’s £85 with BMW which is worth it for peace of mind imo
Full comp mondial for £85 for a m5 ? Seems rather low. Best quote I've seen is £1500pa ish. £85pm is more like a regular f10 price.
I had a quote for a car under 60k with £250 excess
I just did a quote for ke64 wpu, 36k miles, full comprehensive cover, £250 excess, no emergency assist and it came out at £143pm.

How are you getting £85 please? I need to know !

Named component is £119.

Ah driveline only is £90pm maybe that's what you mean, in which case driveline only is not worth bothering with/isn't worth a st.

Is it?
Surely engine turbos gearbox rod bearings are the key /£20k key territory

Whereas the rest of the cover would be indifferent to any F10.

5k claim limit with driveline. Not going to go very far. Full comp covers almost everything including wear and tear up to price paid for the car.

Two turbos and labour are going to exceed 5k easily. As you say, drive line is pointless.

Didn’t realise that.

I’d assume £5k limit on driveeline is as useless on a 535d with its twin turbos

Renewal price will be lower in the second year - probably worth phoning them up and asking how much it will change?

Obviously if you buy AUC or privately with warranty you will get the renewal price when you continue the warranty.

My last experience with a big engined BMW M car (an E63 M6 V10) taught me to NEVER run these things without an AUC warranty.

You really need one for piece of mind.

AUC or full comp mondial. Anything else is not worth having as it's at best a false sense of security.

Didn’t the poor Chap with a ruined V10 M5 have the latter ? There is a thread on here about it

No this was with BMW I rang the number and enquired what it would be after my 12 month AUC warranty

For full comp? If so that is a good price.

I don't think it was Mondial, wasn't it the one Quentin Wilson fronted?

It's cheaper than comp on a non M5 5 Series, very strange....

Bit hard to decipher but from what I can tell the chap is talking about extension of AUC warranty after the first year. Which would presumably be full comp. Seems too cheap to me too, but I have no knowledge of what happens after AUC warranty ends.

I do - you get offered BMW insured warranty at a discount, but nothing like that discount. I renewed it on a 520d last month for about £800 for the year. It's about 20% on top to pay monthly.

I’m not going to lie that’s the price I was quoted this was for an M6 after a 12 month AUC warranty.

I’m currently looking at these as a prospective purchase at the low end of the AUC market. I.e 25k.

I was mainly looking at v8 m3’s but these look better value for money.

Just how much worse are these going to be run financially than an M3? Both would be under bmw warranty.

Many Thanks!

Isn’t it significantly better on paper driven like for like?
