I've been looking at this recently too. From what I can tell the OEM solution is 270M wheels with 235 tyres all around (Michelin Alpin seem popular) - I believe the smaller tyre is to fit snow chains.

I have a set of model 184 wheels (245/18 all round) with the BMW approved Continental winter tyres. I think this setup also fits the e92 M3.

I haven't had the opportunity to drive in snow with them yet, but on cold, wet and greasy roads the winter tyres substantially improve the level of grip over regular summer tyres.

The winter options are frequently different if looking at BMW for wheel and tyre sets, there are some limited offers while available, but they won't be big wheels, just sensible winters.

I also have a Jerez Black E92 M3 Competition Pack (ESS supercharged!) and I happen to have a spare set of the 19" 220M BMW OEM forged wheels fitted with nearly new quality winter tyres in the stock sizes (265/35/19 rear and 245/35/19 front). I have my own set of winter wheels and these were picked up from a mate who sold his M3 but they're just collecting dust in my garage and are surplus to requirements.

The wheels are not in mint condition but are more than good enough as winter wheels (very minor scuffs). The tyres obviously are in near mint condition.

They're at the back of the garage at the moment and I can't recall what make the tyres are (I think they're Michelins)but if you're interested at all please let me know and I'll check them.

If you've got somewhere to store them then simply swapping wheels yourself twice a year is a lot easier than getting a tyre place to swap summer tyres for winter on a single set of rims.

I can vouch for the fact that winter tyres completely transform the car when it is very cold and wet, let alone in actual snow when summer wheels can be lethal or simply useless, whereas the winter tyres will get you through almost anything. I stick the winters on from the beginning of December until about the end of March and I'm all set for any conditions from frost to ice to thick snow. Anybody who says it's just about the driver and they can do just as well on performance summer tyres simply can't have tried proper winter tyres. I was absolutely gobsmacked the first time I tried them on a long, snowy hill and the car simply drove steadily up with no wheelspin or drama.

As a bonus your lovely CP wheels will be sitting safely in the garage and not be at risk of damage by sliding into kerbs etc.

BMW do sell 18" wheels with winter tyres but personally I think anything less than 19" just doesn't look right on the E9x M3s.
