Found a nice little project to sink my teeth into again. Work has already begun on it with the proper M3 door mouldings already fitted now. You'll have to excuse the picture, it was the only place I could park with free parking available biggrin

Car is a peach, full service history, VANOS done, 2 owners (same family). Stacks and stacks of paper work. Unfortunately, hardly used in the last few years and for the last year only covered around 1200 miles. Will be giving it a small service and doing some work to it but nothing major. Should be fun biggrin

This was my old project car; E36 M3 Evo cabriolet.

Sorry for lack of updates, a fair bit has been done recently but no pictures unfortunately.

Had an Inspection II service
New manifold
Bonnet and rear arches respray

Last year it also had a new gearbox, clutch, flywheel and all hydraulic anncilaries and has done around 1500 miles since.

Hope you all like

A few jobs left to do: a replacement rear boot badge and a new gear stick as the leather has peeled away and maybe some new bulbs and a hard top if I can find one.

Aside from that it is running sweet. I will be taking it off road and into storage until next spring time. It's a shame not to drive it but with working so many days I rarely have the time to enjoy any time to myself these days.

Looks like you got a nice one that didn't go the way of so many old fast BMW's and fall into the hands of an idiot when at the lowest market value.

Indeed, the first two owners were actually from the same family so the car was really a 'no expense spared' ones. The third owner was from the same town and a true enthusiast too so really looked after it.

The VANOS was done a few years ago and as mentioned the transmission was taken care of last year so I have no mechanical concerns either. I just need the prices to rocket now biggrin

The project has been put on hold till the weather gets better.

I took this picture last year. I prefer the looks of the older car I have to admit.

Ok, two years later from my last post.

I did some front suspension components; anti roll bar links, inner and outer track rod ends and some cosmetic work and got two new rear headrests.

I also installed a new hard top (bought from a member on here) but haven't really had much time to have it painted or wrapped.

I do like the contrast however.
