I have a 2013 LCI M5 with 62k on the clock. The car has been faultless since new apart from a few months ago the car went into limp home mode and subsequently some of the vanos needed replacing. The same thing has happened again today but this time the car could just about make it back home with blue smoke pouring out the back. I'm a bit worried as the warranty only has a few weeks left on it.

Has anyone else had similiar issues?

Thanks

I would get this into BMW asap. When I had my e39 M5 the water pump failed with around a week of the warranty left and they fully covered it. Their view was - as soon as it happened, you brought it to us and it's still under warranty, so we'll fix it. This better be the same approach with my f10 m5 - but knock on wood, no biggies so far.

Good luck !

Cheers

Trev.

Luckily I called BMW emergency line and they collected the car within an hour. I picked up a loan car 30 mins later. Can't fault the aftercare!

Just waiting for the call Monday from the dealer! My main concern is fixing the fault first time, while the warranty is still valid.

Fingers crossed.....

Dont worry about that.
If a fault is present while your warranty is there then they will fix it even after the warranty has run out HOWEVER in saying that I would extend it ASAP if its on a monthtly basis with mondial which is near as good as can be the same as the BMW warranty.
ALso if you extend now while you are in warranty it will be hell of a lot cheaper
