Sorry chaps, I was having some problems with the subframe inspection receipt for my new purchase. However it has been resolved now. I thought the deal was going bad but now pick up car on Monday. I deleted the other thread and forgot to delete the update in this thread, my apologies

So have they inspected the sub-frame? and can you confirm this by speaking to the company who did the work? have you called them to check ?

Andy
Yes I now have a headed paper receipt that says the sub frame has been inspected and 'all found to be in good working order'. I am collecting the car and it will be then taken to my localBMW indie for further inspection, needless to say if any problems are found I will have to then take issue.

^^^^^^^

Committed and purchased now! Having read in here all the good advise I will have the car checked over by our localBMW Indie. If we find any problems with the sub frame or boot floor I will have to have it sorted and sort out the money afterwards. Hopefully it won't come to that but this has been one of the most nervous of car purchases I have ever made, it owes me some very nice driving experiences now. I'm off to collect the car right now

I bought the silver-grey 04 330Ci on their site last week, be interested to hear how you get on crankedup!
I will post over the next few months or so although I won't be using the car much over winter. An unremarkable plod back home this afternoon along motorways for about 160 miles or so. Half way home and the DSC pings and light stays on, along with the runflat indicator, both yellow. Got home and had a cupp'a then switched ignition on again and lights all extinguished as they should. Checked next service due in 9750 miles which means about thirty thousand miles between services. I will do an oil and filter change before then though.
Checked my papers and dis over they have forgotten to give me my six month warranty documents.

I had a look at your car which is still on their website. Great looking car, swap stories will be interesting for us and likely the other guys in here.

No disrespect intended at the dealer who has sold the car to me, he has assured me that the sub frame and boot floor areas have been inspected and are corrosion and crack free. I also have a receipt which tells me that the inspecting garage has stated all is good. However, I have booked the car in to our local BMW indie who will now inspect same and report back, I want to be 100% certain.
Also I checked with BMW main dealer regarding the air bag recall, the passenger side has been attended to but not the drivers side. Another little job booked in now, pleased I checked!

From what I gather from other forums, including cutters, BMW went on to offer a recall service for the drivers airbag. Certainly our local BMW service agent intimated this. He said 'the passenger airbag has been done. but not the drivers side' did you want to book it in for the work. Maybe your car is not affected by the recall? I should check very carefully with your main agent perhaps.
In the meantime I have managed to kerb one of my brilliantly diamond cut front wheels!!!! Another job to be attended to
I can't believe I managed to be so careless, these cars are wider than I allowed for. Blast my carelessness.

Pleased that posting about the recall has served a good purpose. Apparently BMW say that they have had zero failure on their cars but are taking no risk, quite rightly.
I'm going to find out if a space saver spare is available for the car, I hate the idea of no spare in the boot.

Hope the washer repair works out well.
I dislike BMW zero paper policy regarding repair and service. New owners to the breed buying older cars can easily caught out it seems. The only reason I found out about the drivers airbag recall was my nosing around in the 'cutters' forum and I had no idea if the passengers airbag had been rectified. Unless I'm missing something.
