Hi all - I recently purchased an E92 M3 2 weeks back and noticed that the angel lights are yellow and not white .

Not sure why as the model I pxd ( same year 3 series coupe) had them.

Is there a way I can get these changed to white or is it frownded upon as this is what M3's are meant to be like ?

I don't intend to mod it much but a few subtle changes like these angel eyes makes the car look more upto date

cheers

You can get an LED kit from ebay for around 30 quid.

Mine came with the LED lights when, one recently failed so I ordered a H8 bulb as suggested in the manual, opened up the headlights to see the previous owner had fitted these aftermarket LEDs. The H8 looked pretty crap compared to the other side so I ordered another LED pair.

Simple plug and play as long as you get the CAN BUS compatible LEDs to avoid the dash warnings.

Your non-M3 E92 was probably a facelift, which changed the headlamps and the angel eyes to the white type.

I fitted the MTEC CREE type to my E92 M3, which made a significant difference. Also quite expensive, but quality was very good. http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/mtec-h8-13w-v3-0-cree...

The main lights should be factory fit xenons? So just the angel eye part needs to be switched to the LEDs

Yes they will, straightforward to swap over the bulbs are accessible from the top of the light.

Interesting how the LCI 3 Series got LED headlights from 2010 onwards but the M3 didn't. Anyone know why?

The m3 never went through lci, so they will have kept everything as the status quo
