M2 Service Pack Worth Having at £999

I ordered and specced my M2 with the service pack in November which was quoted at £800 for the 5 year pack. The car arrived at the dealers a week before Xmas so I asked that it not be registered until the new year, I pick it up in a week.
So I am now being told that the £800 dealer was for cars registered by the end of 2016 so BMW are now asking the dealer to charge me £999 instead.
I'm not sure this is now good value given that I don't anticipate doing more than 10,000 miles per year. Can anyone advise the cost if I just fund all the services over the first 5 years based on 10K miles per year?

I think it's still worth it. You'll have to do the running in service around 1200 miles. That's about 400-ish, at least it was on my M3. So, one more service after that and you pretty much make your money back. I think it's also something you can pass on to the next owner, so could make the car more attractive if you choose to sell it.

I think the overall benefit of these service packs is getting very marginal, is there still a 50K mile cap or 5 years whichever is sooner?
When i bought my 1 series coupe in 2013, it was £500 (granted for a diesel) but when i worked out i was doing 20K miles a year, i only got 2 services free from that plan, i was then on my own back to paying for the 3rd service. Plus if you dont keep the car 5 years (say 3 or 4) then you lose out on the rest of that pack even doing low miles, and i'm sure its of limited value come resale, as i say especially if you do more than 12K a year. At 12K a year you'll just squeeze 4 years from the 5 year plan (presuming the 50K max miles rule still applies)

And then its down to how much each service costs and how often based on mileage. Might work for some and not others. Bit cheeky they upped the pack price on the OP though, i'd have given them some grief over that! what happened to BMW's gestures of 'goodwill'...

I'm taking delivery of an M2 in March and I've just spoken to my local dealer regarding the service plan.
The service plan costs £800 if you buy it within 60 days of date of registration of the car and includes the running in service, 1st and 2nd service within 5 years or 50,000 miles, whichever is sooner.
If you purchase a service plan over 60 days from date of registration the cost is £990 and the same services apply and mileage or time frame.
You also don't have to buy the service plan from the dealer you're buying the car from. I am buying the M2 from one dealer and the service plan from my local dealer. My local dealer couldn't get me a car before Q1 2018.

Dealer says the £800 was a discounted price for 2016 only, so if you buy the plan in 2017 it should be £999

I didn't purchase the service plan when I ordered my M2. I am just about to book the RIS and was considering getting the service pack at the slightly higher price. The BMW website seems to say the service pack is now only 3years/36000, so would probably only include the RIS and one other service. Picked mine up on the 12th Jan and also dropped the service plan after this change. It's a bad deal.GX337 said:
If you put down a deposit with the understanding you had a 5 year service plan then that's what you should have got.
My dealer is honouring the 5 year service plan at £800 car arrives in March.
Of course they should honour it but the 5 year service plan has been withdrawn, so you're dealer can discount the 3 year one but can't give you the 5 year one, as I think you'll be informed in March. My dealer is honouring the 5 year service plan at £800 car arrives in March.
when I purchased my 135i Jan 2013 I got a 5 year service plan for £300.The last 5 year service plan for £800 they deleted Brake fluid change, vehicle inspection and wiper blades replacements. Now on the M2 they want £999 for a 3 year service plan with same omissions. I don't think it is good value for money.
