Can anyone confirm what date the lci was?
I think around September 2013.

Mine was ordered August 2013, delivered November and was an LCi

Believe it would have been part of the July 2013 production updates so deliveries from September.

Don't recall any '13 cars being LCI. Only '63.

Am considering the F10 M5 LCI Comp pack myself.

I take it from the comments regarding steering wheels that you can tell an LCI if it has the modern type steering wheel shared with the 4 series etc?

I'm also starting to look at F10 M5s from BMW so I've been doing some research. I went to talk to a salesman at a dealer but he wasn't much help in terms of options etc, so I've just started collecting my own info from brochures online and trawling the BMW AUC listings every day.

Re: facelift vs non, there are a few cars that have retro-fitted facelift steering wheels but from what I've seen so far, it seems like anything registered around or after Sep 13 will be the LCI. I did consider buying an earlier car and retrofitting but after talking to some BMW geek internet friends I think it's better to buy a newer, lower mileage car and try to haggle on extending the warranty.

Can anyone who's owned one advise on the 19" vs 20" wheels? I prefer the look of the 20s but I'm not sure it's worth it if the car rides better on the 19s. Plus there's tyre cost to consider (I haven't checked tyre prices in the respective sizes)?

Also, any must have option opinions from current owners?

Also, based on my analysis of the BMW AUC listings, that cutters car is quite expensive at £40k actually (Park Lane have a very nice LCI car for £40k for example). If he can get £33k from BMW that sounds pretty fair.

I had a facelift however I understand aside from the bigger iDrive button and steering wheel there is little or no difference between the two.

I had 20" wheels on my car, a set of boots will set you back £1000ish (probably better deals if you look around) however I would have thought 19" tyres of the right type would be similar.

The ride on 20's for me was fine, I only had 19's for winter and you can;t compare the two.

Cheers. I think I paid about £325 for a pair of 19" Michelin PSS last summer for my M3 so if they're £250 each for the 20s that's a fair % increase.

Then again I do about 3000 miles/year so tyres are inconsequential. I'm just trying to cover all bases...

If i buy private rather than via a dealer, can I extend the existing BMW warranty with BMW, or do I need to go elsewhere?

You can, You can also it online and choose cover/excess level. Just stick the reg in the BMW warranty quote tool. This also gives you the VIN which helps spec check it.

https://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/BMW/Login/Index

It will also tell you if the car is already covered.
