...is when car adverts mix optional extras together with standard equipment!

Just one example - 2015 m235i currently up for sale on autotrader, described as follows:

"BMW M235I Dec 2015 (65), 4300 miles M sport styling package, Manual, Alpine white, Face-lift Bi-xenon headlights with LED signature angel eyes and headlight wash, Face-lift bar LED rear lights, 18" Alloys, M sport braking system, BMW 235i signature twin exhaust, Sun protection glass, Black gloss highline exterior trim, BMW performance black grilles and spoiler, Extended lighting package, Black dakota leather, Heated sports front seats, Black headlining, Black panel instrument cluster display, latest IDrive system, BMW Navigation, BMW media with DAB, Bluetooth etc, PDC front and rear with visual display, Multifunction sports steering wheel with variable steering, Adaptive driving modes including adaptive M sport suspension, Cruise control, Tyre monitor, Dual climate control/ Air Con, Auto lights/Wiper, Extended storage, Sliding front armrest, 2 keys, bookpacks, first aid kit, Does not require any servicing for another 11000 miles."

LOOK YOU TW*AT, ALL M235i's COME WITH FIRST AID KITS, 18" ALLOYS, MULTIFUNCTION SPORTS STEERING WHEEL ETC. ETC.! At least separate out the optional extras from standard equipment. Or better yet, don't bother listing standard equipment - for a car like this, you're advertising YOUR car, not M235i's in general...!!!

Rant over.

Sorry - perhaps the moderators can move it?

P.s. as we are on the internet where facetious arguments are de rigueur: technically, I was posting about all cars, which would include M cars.

I feel your pain!!

Whenever i look for cars, its always the same. you end up using pics to try and find out whether a car has cruise nav etc as the adverts are really poor.

Its funny whenever you see an advert for a Jag E-type, they copy the whole 'Jag story' into the advert, but neglect to mention some really important facts like: Service history, number of owners, mileage, and condition details. i dont want to see the Jag story (again) its the car I care about!

I really think its often because it takes you away from asking or concentrating on the detail. It could be to make you call up as many ad's dont have much detail at all, to force a phone call.

I've also had issues trying to simply get a cars registration - many pics are 'shopped to cover the plate, and whenever i ask for a reg to check online MOT and HPI they never get back to me or avoid that part of my email. Odd.

Suppose it works as i always end up calling - which is ultimately what they wanted.

Sorry not an M-Car reply wink but on topic.
