What data is there on US vs. UK failures that isn't just anecdotal?

Max, thank you for the information on Troy Jeup.

He has his own website now which was worth looking through. Of the 280 or so engines several are 'stroker' kits with increased capacity up to 6.0L. He also sells the S65 units.

Taken from BMWregistry

'How many examples of the E60 M5 sedan and E61 M5 Touring were produced?
NB91 (ECE-spec M5 sedan, LHD): 6,427 produced from 09/2004 through 12/2009
NB92 (ECE-spec M5 sedan, RHD): 3,646 produced from 03/2005 through 12/2009
NB93: (NA-spec M5 sedan, LHD): 9.491 produced from 09/2005 through 12/2009
PV91 (ECE-spec M5 Touring, LHD): 803 produced from 03/2007 through 04/2010
PV92 (ECE-spec M5 Touring, RHD): 222 produced from 03/2007 through 02/2010'

'How many examples of the E63 M6 coupe and E64 M6 convertible were produced?
EH91 (ECE-spec M6 coupe, LHD): 3,880 produced from 03/2005 through 07/2010
EH92 (ECE-spec M6 coupe, RHD): 1,320 produced from 09/2005 through 06/2010
EH93 (NA-spec M6 coupe, LHD): 3,887 produced from 03/2006 through 07/2010
EK91 (ECE-spec M6 convertible, LHD): 1,133 produced from 09/2006 through 07/2010
EK92 (ECE-spec M6 convertible, RHD): 420 produced from 09/2006 through 06/2010
EK93 (NA-spec M6 convertible, LHD): 3,512 produced from 09/2006 through 07/2010'

The aforementioned gives some indication of market size. Also, we never received the manual version unlike North America, so a 'money shift' is theoretically impossible.

It's worth looking up the amazing thread by 'regular guy' on M3 post, mostly focuses on the S65. He highlights the differences in the same engines throughout production. He has collated a lot of data.

Not much left in them, crank was 100% ok fortunately.. Caught the just in time. Just shows with no audible noise you can't want for that.
